the problem is when what you call "homeland" is our homeland too and we call it Iraq and call ourselves Iraqis. nobody has problem with kurds but their own leaders - as dirty as saddam was.

When the Ottoman Empire were destroyed they just betrayed the kurdish people(treaty of lausanne 1923) and that is why I wont call me a Iraqi and I dont want to life under a flag which is not mine !
I have no problem with Iraq but it is just not my homeland thats all =)
We can be good friends as neighboring states !

And just for your Information our ancestor the Medes destroyed the Assyrian empire and many cities of north Iraq were build by Kurds !
And the first ancestor of Kurds (the Gutian) lived in that area even long before the assyrians !
The Sumerian called the Gutians "Kur" or "Karda"....you just need to inform your self ;)

The Homeland of Kurds lies in the Zagros mountains but it stretched from their till east of today Turkey,north of Iraq, west of Syria and west Iran !
