  • WOW! IAMMA TRY THIS FINALLY someone with my hair type :D YAYYY! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! so excited!

  • You do such a good job maintaining your daughters hair, let me tell you as a child i hated getting my hair done every weekend i was always crying having my hair combed and blow dried and as early as 7 or 8 i got my 1st relaxer.... never again forever natural.

  • very cute style!

  • Very pretty!

  • @SheridanAlli

Thank you Sheridan! I appreciate you viewing the video! God bless and HHJ!

  • um i love your vid but yor daughter is young and it's not healthy to pull and strain you daughters beautiful hair and especially on her edges hope this helps !<3

  • @tearzovjoy77 Thanks for checking out the video! In our blog entries on BlessedCurlyGurlz, we emphasize not to do such along with not applying too much tension to the hair and scalp for many reasons. The video may look deceiving to you, but my daughter is extremely tenderheaded, so no pulling is involved when it comes to any styling whatsoever. By now, her hairline would have receded down to being nonexistent if I did handle her hair as you mentioned. HHJ!

  • the girl in the vid is beauntiful and has great hair, my hair was that long when i was that young until i decided 2 relax my hair, even though ive stopped relaxin now my hair stil has good lengh but its never been the same. Its best 2 stay natural.

  • @MsSweetpeanut, Thank you for the compliment! I do hear that sometime it isn't the same. Maybe you can try using products that may enhance the health of it. Sometimes that does help and make a whole lot of a difference. Keep doing the healthy things that you have already been doing, I'm sure it is beautiful regardless! HHJ!.

  • this is very nice and helpful. thanks for the inspration will try the same styles on my daughters hair as well. God bless you. how long has she been natural?

  • @flocee100 Thank you for viewing the vid Flocee! She has been natural all her life, she's almost 7 years old. I started her hair journey 4 years ago and that is when her hair flourished when I made changes to products and techniques. HHJ!

  • Really enjoyed this, especially the finished look. I was looking for a protective style for me to help me stretch my relaxer, then saw this n now gona do it on both mine n my daughters hair, lol. Thanks

  • @jemjtt

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and learned from it! I'm sure it will look beautiful on both you and your Blessed Curly Gurl.

  • Luv this style, esp the way you have knot it up with the twists like that...lovely!

  • @kenbrid

Thanks so much hun! I hope the video was easy to follow :-)

  • I think i'm ready to try this one. Great styles please keep sharing.

  • @Qweenann

Definitely! And thanks so much for checking out the video! God bless!

  • Very good

  • @MarQHen

Thanks! And thanks for checking out the video!

  • So so helpful

  • @jushere2learn

You're welcome! Thank you so much for viewing the video too :-)!

  • Very lovely and simple style. I have to work on grabbing the short ends at the back of my daughters' hair. She is so tender headed it is difficult to braid the back pieces for that neat look. Great Job!

  • @Priscils661

Thank you! My daughter is very tenderheaded too and that's why conditioner is my best friend when it comes to detanglin it as much as possible to make it easy to do her hair. I notice that a little hair gel will help catch the hair in the back if it's long enough.

  • Great sectioning demo! Im trying to master the art of sectioning LOL. You did a great job with the style. Soooo cute!! Looks like it will last a while.

  • @missthis897

Aww, thanks so much hun! I look at it as geometry...lol. And that's the only way to get those braids in neatly so they don't look like they're fighting each other. Thanks so much for checking out this video. God bless you!

  • Thanks for this I watch your videos every Sunday trying to come up with a hairstyle for my girls. This really helps

  • @keinisha30

  • Thanks! This is so pretty. I most def will be trying this style tomorrow. This will be my daughter's style for school next week.I can braid pretty good, but I would have never been able to get all of the sections to look the same so starting out with the four sections really helped. Thanks a lot.

  • @IsntSheSweet

You're welcome! I'm glad this was helpful! Please let me know how you make out with the style. I know it will be absolutely beautiful on her head. God bless hun!

  • You should try a metal rat tail comb. It is perfect for getting parts straight. It has a pointier tip so it easier to use.

  • @lotta48198

That's a great tip and I should have atleast mentioned it. I do have the metal pointed comb, but I haven't used it in so long (I think almost a year) because my daughter hates it and trust me, I'm very gentle. I think it's just the feeling of it on her head, plus she has a tender scalp. But I will try to reintroduce it again when I do her hair the next time. Maybe to atleast use it to make the sections sharp after using the rat tail. But thank you so much for reminding me :-)

  • This is so cute. Im glad I found your channel. I just added you on facebook.

  • @lotta48198

Thanks so much! And we're glad you found us!

  • Do you have any suggestions or tips on how to braid the back of the hair.. i like this style but i can't figure out what position to sit my god daughter in to braid upwards like you did... thanks!

  • @happykf2

Thanks so much fro viewing the tutorial! And you know what, I was thinking about that too. I had her sit facing me but in front of my right leg. Have her lay her head on my lap, where her face would be facing away towards the right. And then I work on that side of her head that's facing me (left side of her head). And I have her switch, the next time would be my left but the right side of her head would be facing me. I hope that was understandable.

  • Thank you for this video. I am learning to braid and do not know how to get the parts even all over. This has really helped. You are a lifesaver.

  • @MrsBeautifulBrwnSkin

You are very welcome! I'm glad it helped too. Parting is very tricky especially when you're trying to achieve a particular style. When an idea of a style comes to mind, section it first and then work each section. It will make it easier and you can become really creative too. Come back for me, we're going to start putting a bit more styling videos out :-) (-Sdestra)

  • I love this hairstyle. Thank you for sharing, cant wait to do it on my daughter.

  • @TheChanelflower

Please let me know how you make out when you style her hair :-), Glad the video was helpful! (-Sdestra)

  • Very cute! How long does the style last? Love your vids. Cornrows are the hardest style for me but your vids help alot. Thanks!

  • @Jus2Jazzy4u

Thanks so much Jazzy! The style can last about a week on her because of her activities. But you can always redo it by doing each cornrow over one by one. You can skip the sectioning, and get right to it. But if you do do it this way, make sure you detangle each undone cornrow to remove the shedded hair that was trapped in the braid. Moisturize the section and rebraid/retwist. Good luck with the cornrows and we have a cornrow video if you haven't checked it out. (-Sdestra)

  • My daughter's hair looks just like your daughter. How do you get her hair detangled enough to cornrow without using a blowdryer?

  • @nini44418

Thanks for watching! I detangle w/conditioner, section the hair into 4 parts, use a wide tooth comb in the shower working each section & blot dry her hair with a towel. Then each section, gently stretch her hair's length from the bottom and twist that section which helps stretch her hair out while it airdries. I will have a video out in the near future how I do that. But check out the detagling video that I did on her hair to get an idea. God bless!

  • Very cute!

  • @chibukianderson

    Thanks!

  • I like this style it's so cute. I think i will try this on my god daughter tomorrow! thanks for sharing!

  • @happykf2

You are very welcome! Please let me know how you made out! I know it will be so beautiful!

  • i love her hair texture !!! :)

  • @purpleeye92

    Aww, thanks!

  • Can you do vid doing cornrows into two ponytails?

  • @epitomeofaqueen

Yes we can do one in the near future. Once we have it available, we'll let you know hun :-). Thank you for viewing the video (-Sdestra)

  • Thts cute!

  • @3HRDWAY

Thank you! And thank you for viewing the video :-)! (-Sdestra)

  • och that look like it hurt

  • @chrisray0506

Thanks for viewing the video! Actually it didn't hurt her at all, otherwise she would have been flinching & smacking my hand throughout the video. She is extremely tender headed, so I would not purposely braid her hair tight since I don't braid tight at all. We have been emphasizing things on what not to do when it comes to caring for a child's hair. Braiding and styling the hair tightly is one of the main ones and a no-no in our book. God bless!
