  • one of the best guitarists ever, absolutely incredible. I'm sure im not the only guitarist watching this and thinking god what i'd give to be able to play half as good as this guy. Amazing.

  • Amazing performance....worst video synch ever!!!! "Godzilla" movies think that was bad..

  • A want A Wings Reunion with this guy and Denny Laine, and holly if possible. R.I.P. Linda.

  • Just listened to the Juber version. His is good. Yours is great. Hello from Texas.

  • @iamkerrydon This IS Juber.

  • The video doesn't match up with the audio.

  • I have to weigh in on the side of the amazed commentators. LJ took a tune, and made it his own, exc arrangement, exquisite performance, and under lights, you move around to keep the sweat and hair out of your face. There were other performers on the stage. How long was he on stage?

  • Playing at the 2011 L.A. Guitar Festival...check out the video!

  • McCartney should have kept this guitar player! :) What a genious.

  • His original stuff is awesome and worth buying the CD to hear...

  • A great guitarist, playing a great song -- and the crappiest video rip I've ever seen. Totally out of sync. Close your eyes! Do not View! If you are a guitarist, it will be nauseating.

  • @Grubnut I agree! Thought I was having a stroke or something! Great interpretation by Juber!

  • @Grubnut I was trying to figure out where the 'other' guitarist is, for the first 20 seconds :|

  • Oh, the poor musicians. There certainly a very high standard of performance out there like this.

  • Damn. That's the first time I've ever heard anyone play that song, or at any rate bits of it, more beautifully than the guy who originally wrote it. (Clapton and Allman came close but this is even better.)

  • 0:01 - 3:19, is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my whole life.

  • Saw him and Al Stewart on river street in Savannah,Georgia, just the two of them. What a treat, up close. Masters both. They played Al Stewarts repetoir and some of Jubers'.

  • ungodly talent, obviously Laurence has made a pact with the devil.

  • Every now and then you see the other guitarists sitting waiting behind him on stage. They don't look happy. (Maybe they have to follow him?)

  • Great playing but lose the crappy Taylor and the even more Crappy pickup sound.

  • It`s amazing what the human mind can conceive....

  • amazing, but i think it would've sounded better mic'd. the pickup in this guitar makes it a little obnoxious sounding, if you know what I mean.

  • Amazing. And he was Paul McCartney's solo gitar player in Wings in 1978-1979. Paul knew who to choose...:)

  • It's not the style I like but it's very well played. I searched for this song is because I'm watching a video guitar lesson and he is a great teacher! I now know he is also a great player.

  • way too fussy. really don't like his arrangement

  • awesome display of finger style virtuosity

  • This type of talent is what guitars are built for.

  • my guitar is in the bin!!!!1

  • @kagood25 that is no place for a guitar.

  • @JeffBeckJunior maybe he smashed it first

  • Inspiring performance

  • This is a stunning version that Hendrix would be proud of. The rolling arpeggios are so clean and fast that they make this student in awe.

  • he stayed at the hotel i work at for like a month. really nice guy.

  • This just kills your fingers..

Amazing performance. Original stays the best though.

  • monty montgomeery is also incredible

  • Whoa! Is that Preston Reed with an Ovation sitting behind Laurence?

Watch when the camera zooms out, I think it is!

  • You´re absolutely right!

  • A beautiful arrangement, performed to a standard most will never reach.

  • yes, but too much of an arrangement for my liking. it sounds too educated, kinda destroys the flow of the song in my opinion. Nevertheless amazing skills though.

  • Comment removed

  • i agree with ocelott22. to much lead in. i love acoustic and all of jubers other remakes so far. this one not so much / :

  • wow. inspirational!

  • great song but if you make this some a complete instrumental, i would rather go with the god of guitar : SRV. So much emotion put into a song he didnt even write, its amazing

  • nice tone, communicates a lot of emotion

  • i'm italian..i'm from perugia...you're grand!!!!!!

  • was he in paul mcartney and the wings

  • He was lead guitar.

  • man, to beat it you need to be god, the cover is brilliant, the man is a real good player. i wish i can play like that someday, but i am to old and just learning the first haha

  • Dear GIBSON, are you a real musician b/c if you were you would know to appreciate all types of arrangments of other artists. Hendrix would even appreciate this so don't be close-minded....it's all about the music, my friend!

  • ok ocelott i think we get ur point...

  • thank you lol someone who knows music. I agree, I'm not making fun of this guy, he's talented in this style... which I really stay away from.

  • I totaly agree. Hendrix blows this guy out of the water. In his style of playing that is. Laurence Juber is very different, and makes songs soft, and they arent meant to be like a rollercoaster. I see what you are saying, i love the original, nothing can beat it, but this is a nice alternative to listen to AND play sometimes. but in no way am i dissagreeing

  • superbe interpretation, tres jolie, tres mélodique ... totu en conservant tout l'esprit de Jimi inside ... Bravo !

  • aww, right away I get thumbs down lol I find it annoying because I've always found this style of playing annoying... with some exceptions, very few. Little wing, is great because of it's roughness, it's grittiness. It's so spontenious and every note throws you off, like riding some crazy rollercoster. This version's too soft. It leads you on to each note. Of course, I'll get thumbs down from those who have no clue. lol A real guitar player would agree with me.

  • so you just slam this beautiful "king of playing" a "real guitar player" would know that there's beautty to be found in different playing styles and sounds

i love electric guitar but you have got to have some room for different interpretations

you're opinion isn't worth a damn if you don't like "this style of playing"

  • You just have a different disposition. Take a lesson from David Hume - don't be a critic of art to which you are not stylistically disposed.

  • i found this annoying

  • monte montgomery kills this

  • just checked it. better then this indeed. you must be a guitar player.

  • Fucking smooth.

  • fantastico!!great !!!one of my favourite !!

    Luigi

  • need to quit that one hammer on you do 2 times at the start and throughout, then it would be absolutely perfect

  • yeah

  • ex menber of wings?

  • Beautiful.

  • Didn't know this Laurence Juber but I sure liked the way he played this. Now I will search for more. Thanks for posting.

  • holy shit!

  • Jimi would have loved hearing this

  • yeess maan

  • wow 1:25 - 2:04 MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I'VE EVER EHARD IN MY WHOLE LIFE

  • @jcagonoy The hole damn thing is amazing!!

  • Amazing .. does anybody know if LJ drops a couple strings in that tune

  • Great stuff. It's interesting to compare with some of the other acoustic versions to be found on youtube, which fail to keep a steady rythm and just over-stress technique. This version is a real nice balance between technical ability and just keeping the groove steady.

  • try monte montgomery's version;)

  • i got an autographed CD by him two days ago WHOOO

  • Saw LJ perform this at the Fest For Beatle Fans in Secaucus last night, He is an amazng guitarist.

  • This guy was the guitarist for Paul Mcartney and Wings and the only artist from Wings WHO Mcartney approved to record these songs from Wings under the Album "One Wing"

  • I saw Lawrence at a local Guitar Clinic he is amazing he does them for Martin Guitars check in with the Guitar Shops maybe you can get lucky to see him in a small clinic setting and learn some tips from him, he's hella cool

  • It's interesting to watch this new tradition forming for playing this song in all its forms including bootleg and live versions beloved by collectors for years. What I'm saying is that few people just play the straight, recorded version from the 1968 LP anymore.

  • leno shreds comparison to kevin newbanks. He should just play his own band

  • I hope you all realize that this is the same Laurence Juber who was the guitarist for WINGS in the late 70's. McCartney only chose the best.

  • wtf is he even human? omg hendrix will be very very proud OMGGGG

  • lol, I didn't know Jay Leno played guitar! :)

  • Very very nice..

  • That is quite possibly one of the best versions out there. I am amazed at his full use of the guitar's sound.

  • I saw this guy play in a little bar in Groveland California about 3 years ago in front of about 30 people! I bought tickets a month early but no one else knew who he was. It was mesmerizing-pure magic!

  • in my opinion a fantastic version the monte version is excellent and he is a super player

but juber is class act without uneccessary frills etc.

  • this is now my favorite version, ever.

  • this is damn gooooooooooood. Hendrix would be honored.

  • Hmm, sure very good, but i like gEu0Aa5cZW0 more (Monte Montgomery's version).

to be fair: Monte doesn't play alone ;)

  • Weird mugging; looks like Mussolini trying to sound like Abraham Lincoln.
