The Mossberg 500 series is made and assembled in the USA.

The Mossberg MAVERICK 88 is made in Mexico, assembled in Texas, hence the cheaper price tag.

That sucks. Round here (central Indiana) all my buddies have a bunch of guns. We all are 18 and have like 7 to 13 a piece. At one time I had 4 Mossberg 500s, all with different uses. Now I just have a 500 field deer combo, and the 590 Special Purpose for the truck/house. Love em.

Each picture had at least one Mossberg in it, but there were some group shots. Oop, scratch that. The Serbu Super Shorty, despite being available on a 500, was an 870. Not a lot of external difference once they chop 'em down, though.

My Mossberg 590 SP however, i have put no less then 9,000 shells everything from 000 buck to 3 ' magnum slugs to #8 bird/target loads thru it without even the slightest problem. Nothing has been changed or replaced parts wise, just a ragular cleaning after a day at the range and some gun oil.

Ive owned a 590 since I was 16 yrs old. I'm 31 now and it has been a tuff and very reliable old shot gun! My dad has an 870 and is constantly giving my 590 hell!
