Out of all the shows I remember this one. The band I was in performed at BOA as well but of course we didn't make it to finals but I remember watching this in the stands. Awesome show :-D
Nice! Im looking forward to seeing you guys at exhibition/ BOA Atlanta!!! Im the Sousaphone section leader so if you see the sousaphones, look for me!!!!
I was talking to a couple students about the '94 show (Kiss of the Spider Woman). I lost my video and was curious if anyone still had it who may be willing to post it. Oh yeah, 95 too. Thanks!
My favorite show ever. I think this show excels visually and musically, not lacking in either. Also, the theme of the majority smothering out individualism is portrayed very well through the musical arrangements and visual design.
I marched in this show as well, sophomore trumpet. When we snapped our horns at the end of the show, that is the best feeling I've ever had, and the audience response was unbelievable. 8 years later, I still get chills when I hear the audience cheering before we're even done playing.
This show rocks. I am a member of Plymouth right now, and this show is still the stuff of legend. I agree with andreclopez, we certainly are attaining a level of visual performance similar to 1999, but our music is lacking- why? Probably because our middle school band programs do not coordinate with the high schools at all, and because our arts funding is slowly going down the drain.
Freshman for Wild Things? In my opinion the best performance we ever gave that year was the final runthrough at the field house. Maybe it's just me but the energy I felt (espicially when we nailed that tight circle at near the end) was spectacular. I honestly felt that THAT performance would have taken first. I remember looking at people around me when we were done that day and didn't see a dry eye.
McGrath is @ Kennesaw Mtn. now- he took over for Starnes (who went to Western Carolina). We'll see how this works out! Kennesaw Mtn. w/ McG at Grand Nats in 2012
one of the most baller shows ever! perhaps the best designed show that I've ever seen. The north dominates in visual performance, but they need to start playing with better sounds... Is it the cold?
OH LORD. I remember that show. I remember my band Broken Arrow coming off the field and thinking man we kicked butt. And then low and behold 15 minutes later there is Plymoth Canton. This is by far my favorite show I ever saw at Nationals in all four years I went.
Absolutely incredible!!!!!!
