Btw if anyone doesn't know the reason hideo kojima isn't makeing a remake of Mgs 1. It's because it would take too long to render such old graphics to hd quality. It would mean having to completely restyle the textures and skins etc. Whereas for the other games all they have to do is upscale the graphics. I may not be 100% accurate but this is APPARENTLY the reason

@DarbyBellisle subsistence offers a fully controllable camera, bonus features such as online play via playstation network, all cutscenes are available as soon as you create a save game, mainly for people returning to this adventure after having played snake eater. if you are looking to get this game you would be better with getting the subsitence version, i bought metal gear solid 2 substance rather than SoL for the extra features such as vr or alternate missions on the big shell and stuff.

It gives you an entirely different experience playing through the game as it allows you to see everything around you. Updated versions of the two original Metal Gear games are also included, as well as online mode which is now obsolete. Subsistance is a must have though, but it's usually really expensive now a days.

Now, I'm not an authority on this stuff, but I think I should still try to help you out.

The older PS3 systems will play the PS2 games (I think they're referred to as 4 USB PS3s). If you're talking about getting the game on the PSN, then it's easy. All you need to do is set up a PS2 save file/ memory card, which can be done while you are on the home menu.

@almiester1234 I believe it asks you that so you can choose what controls you want. If you choose MGS1, it will give you MGS1 controls. If MGS2, you get MGS2 controls and same for MGS3. It also asks you that question in MGS2. (If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me anyone.)
