I love Tammy Wynette this is one of my favorite songs from her. Actually, I think Otto's done a good job of showing the difference between Tammy's era and ours. Public virtue is a joke today. Literally. If you went into a bar in the 50s and said those words almost everyone would respect you. Today they'd laugh in your face. I like Tammy Wynette's work and, at first watch, can agree with a lot of the negative comments on this page. But I don't think 'Otto' is trying to be disrespectful. I think - and I may be wrong - that he's trying to show how alcohol - and certainly too much of it - can lead us all down the path that Tammy's 'character' was following in what was - and this should be remembered - just a song.
