  • Nice funk nice grove I think everybody should take an listen to one of the great's and just set down clouse your eye's and let your mind messeng and free!

  • My first wax lp was from Jean Luc while a sophomore in high school (mom thought I was nuts, even though i played in the band and orchestra), and I've been a fan of his work since then. Seeing him live in 88 at the Meadow Brook Theatre name changed since then) in Rochester, Michigan along with Spyro Gyra was just amazing! This is my favorite song from any of his albums..

  • @djgiovanninsane I was there.

  • @mdkmba

    Wauw super

  • This is just timeless! I can imagine Jean Luc Ponty and George Benson in the studio recording this joint. George closed his eyes and went in. Then Ponty was like lets do this together and they created a masterpiece. Ponty has soul and he always had it but on this joint Benson just makes you wanna cry! I use to fall asleep to this joint in the 80's

  • Before jazz became the black sheep in air play; I heard this one on the radio in Oakland Ca. KBLX 102.9 around the mid 80's I think. I was blown away by the sound, and the talent that followed. An awesome musician, and in a class of his own. It is to bad there's no jazz dedicated stations around. Not everybody can afford xm/sirus, and sometimes it nice to hear a nice piece of jazz in you old hoopdie.................

  • @alpo8473 Wow, I remember when the ole 'BLX hit the air in '79. Man, good times in the Oaktown back in the day!

  • @CommishNflpro Nice to hear someone can understand that the mainstream started many years ago. Change is good, but sometimes change can be our worst enemy. Yea, I sure miss 'The Quiet Storm'.........

And by the way, where you around when KKSF showed up on the scene? They have sailed away to the big jazz studio in the sky LOL!!!!!! Keep supporting the sound, it's in everything we do..........

  • @alpo8473 Funny, I had moved to NYC in 81 but came back in 86, so I was around for KKSF also, when I left again for good in 88 they were still around. Sad to here they are gone too.

  • @CommishNflpro Thanks for checkin in on us here on the west coast. Yea, it is a sad thing to know that all the jazz station in the bay area is pretty much gone bye, bye. KBLX is still on the air but by a string LOL.....Hope your enjoyin some smooth jazz in your town and if you are remember us out here!!!! We needz some smooth jazz or something more relaxing to get our youngster's mind right. Help them understand that jazz is in every piece of music that we listen too: It up to you if you hear it?

  • i remember when this came out i was just starting to get into jazz it was so incredible and luc ponty along with michael franks were my favorites and then came metheney and i was hooked

  • wow, one of a kind musician This guy knows how to use the violin. It's also the first time i heard george benson played good in this cut

  • Smooth, slick, and sneaky funky!

  • Whew...this one takes me back to high school--staying up late, cramming for finals--I thought for sure my cassette of this would finally wear out, LOL! Thanks so much for putting this up! This is by far my favorite of his post-Mystical Adventures albums, and this track in particular is a real standout :-)

  • MAESTRO !!!!!

  • fabulous

  • Benson!

  • this song makes me want to get in my convertible and cruise with a beautiful woman, and dance till the sun rises.

  • I love this song. This is the perfect tune to listen to on a summer night.

  • brings back memories.....my dad use to JAM the hell outta this when i was a kid back in the late 80s, early 90s.....and now, ive since purchased it on disc, it was on tape back then...he had just bought a brand new 1990 honda civic dx, and i would imagine we were filming a commercial when driving around...lol...thats what the music reminded me of......smooth, cruising music.....now that im grown, im gonna bump this rollin down A1A in south florida with my baby...good music NEVER gets old.

  • @savannahslimm Yes, I can feel ya on A1A Coco Beach @Patrick AFB ya dig?

  • @savannahslimm Ahhh Yes!!! (Big ups to billwiil7929 for posting!) This tune brings back a grip of memories. I was 20 something in the Army and stationed in Germany the same time frame you mentioned. I still got this on cassette and vinyl LP! I was in a trucking unit back then. We used to roll back and forth all across them European borders. These jams kept me pumped and awake.. well most of the time. But seriously, no disrespect, the Old School Masters rule! Period, 'Nuf said! Peeese!

  • Awesome!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that was the last one on the other side of this? Jean Luc.......is the MAN, qui?

  • @MissDresden Since this piece was the first on side "B",Watching Birds"was the last on side "A"

  • Love the fact that "Modern time Blues"ISN'T" "The Blues"

  • This album was way ahead of it's time. I still listen to it quite often. Brings back alot of really good memories of spending time with my father.

  • @thinkinoftomorrow Same here!!!

  • The whole album is awesome, but what he, George and Chick do on this song, has never been duplicated.

  • @jazzytds do you know what the last song on the other side of this was called?

  • @jazzytds also, ist this George Benson playing with him?

  • @MissDresden Sure is... I'll check to see what the last song is, or pull it up on Amazon, and listen to the samples. Excellent album. Saw him in concert in Chicago at the Park West, the whole room moved in a mellow sway, while highballs were being served, and no one missed a beat. He makes pure unadulterated love to that violin...maestro.

  • @MissDresden "That's George playing,who else!

  • @MissDresden YESS!!!

  • Always liked this tune. Another great one from same album is named Orbital Enconters

  • Excellent combo....

  • This tune is awesome. If this don't make you apprieciate the jazz fusion nothing will. The album itself is really hot too.

  • steppers classic!!!!!!
