For that Level good on him and good on the judge. That was 10 worthy if not 9.9 or 9.8 but wgf!!!!! the reason he got a 10 was cause the judge had some balls.
I was at this meet! My son was competing level 4 but I remember looking up and thinking, "What an awesome vault!" and feeling delighted that Trevor got a 10.0. It was beautiful. A very special moment, too. Just ignore all the negative comments! Those people obviously don't know what is required nowadays in compulsories for JO gymnastics.
Well coming from a judge, I can assure you that his front tuck had everything required to receive a ten. And yes, in Boys Level 5, this is the vault that is chosen for them to do. The scoring system for level 5 is the junior olympic scoring system and still only goes up to a ten. It's not the scoring you see in elite with two different panels of judges and open ended scoring. Great vault kid.
this is NO way a prelude to actually vaulting. I don't understand why the new code has compulsary gymnasts doing this, as it does NOT pertain to future vaulting. Granted, it was a very well executed front tuck, and deserved the 10.0... i just think it's pointless for this to be an actual "vault" for compulsary gymnasts.
Yeah, I agree. In the women's JO program they at least to a handspring onto a bunch of panel mats. This at least helps with the progression to an actual handspring vault. They should do something like that with the boy's program too. Great job though Trevor. Keep it up.
i do gymnastics and i have a better front tuck than that and in meets i stick it perfectly and i dont get a 10 so you stink idiot im better than you at gymnastics
you are a douche bag baseballfan....and while I agree with theused that this isn't much of a lead up to actual vaulting, it is only level 5, which is equivalent to the old class 6. In the next level the boys do a front handspring vault.
it's a very good front tuck, but don't get a big ego...it's the easiest thing a gymnast can possibly do
January 14th 2007... the new code of points was already in use by then, are we talking about the "perfect 10" by the old system, or "just" a 10 with the new one?
I used to go to daggets for gymnastics, but quit in 2004. It was the best decision of my life! unless you absolutely love gymnastics, consider trying other sports. take a week off and see how much more time and enjoyment you have without it. If you still enjoy it, then tell everyone there that I said Hi, Tom B.
I hated that vault was i was in gym... i mean wheres the horse. i mean at least its harder than level 4 vault(strait jump)

The easiest thing a gymnast could possibly do? Perhaps you are exaggerating a bit here. After all, a forward roll is a precursor to a front tuck.
TuesdayPillow 3 years ago
excuse me, I mean it's the easiest possible "vault"
backflipboy27 3 years ago
actually level 4 vault is a straight jump for boys

I was expecting more than a front flip

I remember going to Daggetts. Those were fun times. The gym hasn't changed at all. Coached by an Olympian.

Yeah really...where was the vault?
jnsk8er 5 years ago
That's a bunch of crap.
First off, that's not even a vault.
Second of all, he's like, 10.
Third, that wasn't 10 worthy at all.
I love gymnastics with everything in me.
But seriously, what is it coming to?
StartxTheFire 5 years ago
Well in fact he is 11 years old and that is the required vault for Boys Level 5 Gymnastics.
The vault judge, who had been judging for 40+ years, thought it was 10.0 worthy. Listen to the other video I uploaded for the judge's comments.

nanquan491 4 years ago
levels 1-10 still use the old "perfect 10" system. Only the elite gymnasts use the new scoring.

not anymore :(

wow he is already 11? no wonder he probraly had a whole year to perfect that vault.
