@ProHackerDel77 ~ Yes, you can buy the food at petsmart in the turtle section, if you live in the US. It is very good for turtles to eat a variety of food like turkey, dried shrimp, lettuce, spinach, and turtle pellets.
@SteeleTate yh if your turtle is stress or something that hes not gettin use to ... & is true add a little bit of the tank water and add it into a plastic box & feed him as some turtles do not eat for the first time is bcause the temperature of water , water condition , Stress (not adding predator fish) , turtle dock were they relax , a Light special for turtles not any other light may harm the turle . any help im here
Thankyou so much for this piece of advise. My baby turtle hasn't eaten since I caught him, so like 2.5 days and I've trying giving him reptomin, and several fruit and even some small pieces of lettuce.. But he would eat anything. But this devise allows me to get rid of the waste when he is done.
Question: you say that it's not a meal but an additive. Well he hasn't eaten any reptomin yet so what should I do? I don't think he likes being put in a separate container :-/
@vanceoliver ~ Provide a variety of foods and leave the room to allow your turtle to have the comfort and peace to eat in what he feels is a safe place. Think about it, he is scared considering you just caught him in the wild. Taking a turtle out of the tank to eat is not needed, but beneficial for several reasons. I hate to say this, but if he just won't eat you must take him back to exactly where you found him and set him free.

@redo7706 ~ I hang a piece of romaine lettuce in the tank once a week. Not as a meal replacement, but bonus ruffage they can snack on anytime. This may come as a surprise to many people but turtles love to eat vegetation. They can be fed salad greens, herbs such as parsley and basil, cabbage, green beans, broccoli, and carrots. A turtle will even eat fruit and may enjoy eating berries and bananas. Of course turtles are carnivorous and will eat little pieces of fish and meat.
@AnimalHelper99 ~ I would try again someday because romaine and spinach lettuce is very good for turtles. Many people are surprised but turtles love to eat vegetation. They can be fed salad greens, herbs such as parsley and basil, cabbage, green beans, broccoli, and carrots. A turtle will even eat fruit and may enjoy eating berries and even bananas. Even though turtles appear to have a slow metabolism, growing baby turtles need to be fed quite frequently and should be feed once or twice a day.
@AnimalHelper99 ~ Thanks for your questions and comments. I'm glad I have been able to help you in some way. Plus thank you for subscribing to my channel, I have already subscribed back!
@DewleafWolf -- It is so fun and simple to feed your turtles romaine lettuce if you use a clip, and you can leave it in the tank for 24 hours so they can just snack away. My fish seem to eat a bit of it too, at least they nip at the lettuce and for sure eat the small pieces that float away from the turtles. You will love having a food clip and so will your turtles!
@DewleafWolf -- A food clip is cheap and easy to use. You will find them in the fish section at any pet store for about $3. You can place it in your tank from time to time with a simple suction cup, which is just as easy to remove. Just make sure you use romaine lettuce, which is best for your turtles and place the clip on the front glass of your tank, turn off your room lights and enjoy the show. Using a food clip and romaine lettuce is good for your turtles and fun for you to watch. Enjoy!
@turtlesbest -- I like having the small rocks in my tank, and there is only a single layer. The rocks are ideal for the fish and snails and they look nice, plus they are big enough that my turtles can not swallow them,

This is a cool idea. I've never seen a food clip, so I'm intrigued now... :) I'll definitely look for this next time I'm shopping for my pets!
