it's real to some extent lol this has a whine key (in the movie they used their necklace) and the music box doesn't open by itself you have to do it, and it is NOT so small like in the movie lol but the dancer and the swan in the back of the dancer is very much alike to the one in the movie. I love it!

it's NOT a toy.... it's more for a collection. It's made of clay and it plays music (as you can see and hear in the video) DEFINITELY NOT for kids younger than 7.

hey Daniela,

it's real. It feels like clay (hard clay of course), it's heavy, a good 7 to 10 lbs maybe. it's no where near plastic. Unless the glass in the inside is plastic/glass lol

hi i was wondering if its made of metal or plastic? because im thinking of geting it but i dont really want to pay 60 dollars for a plastic music box. it is absolutly gorgeous looking though :)

well it depends, the outside part is heavy, feels like porcelain, but the inside, where the swan is, there's a glass, plastic-like protector, so you don't touch the swan, and i think the dancers are also made out of clay. Over all, it's about 7 lbs, im sure there is no plastic in it whatsoever =O) go for it!!!

Yeah i dont hear much of Alexandra so it must be a great meaningful item for you :) and that's a odd way of spelling Alexandra lol oh well it's unique. My mother did the same thing with my name; got a famous character from a spanish soap opera, switch some letters around to make it look "unique" as well. lol

i got it from the San Fransisco music box website, but you have to be careful, it may be up for grabs in the website but they could be out of stock and they haven't updated their page... that happen to me with the phantom of the opera music box which i had to buy through ebay...
