I traveled a lot on AEC Regals and the AEC Regents, when I was living in Lisbon during my childhood. I still remember the sound of the engine and the particular sound of the transmission (I thinck it came from the gearbox or the transaxle). I even remember seeing them painted in green in the early 80's before they had been painted in white and orange in order to match the "new" single deck Volvo buses. They were great buses.
Sorry! I wrote transaxle but i wanted to say differential.
