i just wont my dell computure (not laptop) inn factory settings! idk if i lose all my data dont got any importen dara on it. but my software or it is Fcked up cant use internett on it, thats my problemo can some just show me how 2 restart it out any bugs upen shit and all that?

my computer starts normally but i get a black screen with an underscore in the left hand corner well if anybody is familiar with computers plz msg me at ma9649deleon@gmail,com the guys from the store told tht i need to use the cds that came with the lap top

I tried rebooting it, and when it reboots it looks normal but when my screen comes up it is in landscape. Does anyone know what button I should hit to change it back? I called Dell but because my contract ran out they wanted to charge me $59 just to tell me how to change it back; I hung up screaming! (blushes)
I got a Dell believing it was made in Iowa in a garage surrounded by cows. WHAT A JOKE! It was made in Malazia (sp). My DVD went down but they sent a disk to renew the drives (DVD?). Did I say the DVD died! So it' doesn't make a good frizibi (sp) or paperweight! I transfered the disk using another PC to a device and it was working until it said it was missing a file. Then poof now THAT doesn't work. So here is my Dell bend over please.

I have to say that whilst this may sort the majority of software faults. (Assuming the manufacturer included a recovery partition, and also assuming this hasn't been removed at some stage). It's something of a drastic step.
HELP, i know my problem is hardware . when i turn my laptop on it only turns on for a sec. and then shuts off and i can hear a click as it turns off... whts wrong?

Dell Laptops aren't really horrible. The newer versions aren't as faulty as the older versions but they are more expensive. No joke.

@wiskawind Press Ctrl + Alt + arrow (left, right, up or down) to rotate the screen.

what !! don't consider myself an expert but did work in a repair shop.
first thing is run a diagnostic for the hard drive, every company has one that you can download from the net.
If you're not sure who made you drive then try seatools made for maxtor & seagate drives.
This will test your hard drive and let you know if it's ok or not.
This guy is in the business of repair so is not going to offer us any useful info here. I found the repair business to be a cut throat business.
