  • will someone please get a video closeup of this guy's right hand?? I'm going crazy here. It's like his fingers don't move at all. PHUQ!!!11

  • @daddyst0vep1pe He's picking. The bottom 2 or 3 strings are picked by fingers. The thumb usually covers the rest. The way he picks, his fingers are directly behind his hand from the camera's point of view.

  • he should play Rhythm for Dream Theater

  • absolute brilliance not only talent but he must practice a bunch technique is flawless im only 15 and he is my inspiration for playing guitar, and this is on my list of songs by andy mckee that i want to one day be good enough to play

  • I mostly like theese elder records.

    How expression in realization... :)

  • No....this is magical

  • too fast I think. CD version is perfect

  • its irony that your username is 209slayer :D

  • @209slayer's comment is somewhat redundant in the intellectual wasteland that is youtube. This is hardly a place to leave something insightful and beautiful.

  • McKee + John Butler and his 12 string = probably one of the best sounding eargasms ever

  • This is what hovercars in Heaven soundlike when they run btdubs.

  • He made that guitar his bitch.

  • @209slayer Not everyone learns as quickly as others do.. to some what is basic knowledge is to others a revelation of sorts.. and some will use it to flourish into a new persona, while others will store it in their brains for use only in certain situations.. like a reference.. Some will not at all grasp what you speak of, and some will die before ever the thought crossed their minds. Such is the way of life. Pity not the ignorant or the blind.. but in fact those.. whom to which Most is clear.

  • somebody should just give him a hover car

  • I was view # 1, 666, 666 :(

  • @209slayer there are still talented people in our generation just that most of them are idiots :(

  • dont watch...watch?v=mkHqxx2sJHY&feature=feedlik

  • @davigolfista Otherwise seek fame, but not with andy, Greetings!

  • this + rainymood-dot-com FTW amg :3

  • It looks like unbelieveble how he uses his right thumb o.o

  • this honestly sounds like 2 guitarists atleast

  • im 16 and i feel bad for my generation ... for the reason that they lost respect for real talents ... andy mckee is the man that will inspire and bring back hope to this doomed generation

  • @209slayer with ya.

  • @209slayer excuse me but im 17 and i dont listen to that shit they play on the radio. I listen to real music and music that has passion besides passion for drinking and sex. So dont say this whole generation is doomed. There are few of us that chose not to be doomed. I am one of them.

  • @209slayer well put

  • @209slayer Im 17 and I know exactly how you feel.

  • @Th3Power0fMusic same here and im also 17

and ive shown this to my cousin and he likes it so maybe we just need to make him get seen and it might change for the better in music..

  • @209slayer such a negative person.

  • @209slayer W0RD!

  • This dude just owns the hammer on!!!!!

  • This sucks! WAAAAIIIT!!! its the most amazing thing ever :D

  • how can someone dislike this?

  • chuck norris disliked because he can't do this

  • Preparing for take off !

  • I've had the great privilege of seeing Andy play live and let me tell you - hes awesome. The amount of timing, coordination, skill and practice it takes to perform like this is staggering. An inspiration to all aspiring musicians. I own his cd's and often watch his videos here and have been doing so for the last couple of years and i never get bored of them. Can't 'Like' this enough. Can i get an Amen!?

  • @TheTruMar AMEN!

  • You know this guy's a stud when he can play rhythm AND lead at the same fucking time. I don't think people know how hard that is...

  • 81 people have different tastes in music, you don't have to insult them for that.

  • 81 people can't find their keys...

  • this is the greatest name for a song ever >.

  • did anyone else hear that one note he missed? neither did i

  • andy will be dead in ten years when the hell hounds come and take him to the devil so he can eat his soul. he had to have made some sorta deal somewhere a long the lines for sure

  • @Keatons1026 LOL like like like like

  • Music shimmers like precious stones. Andy has obtained from the acoustic guitar is impossible. Music is literally enveloped and carries into other dimensions ... He really loves his guitar and it definitely tells him the same!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm so glad Andy quit Lumberjacking for guitar.

  • @AIex0100 LOOOOOL That comment made me laught so hard I had to pee! LOOOOOL

  • stupid commercials make me not want to watch

  • Is it odd that I at one point found myself almost headbanging to this song?

  • if i win the lottery this song will be on mtv

  • 1,630,252 floated away

  • i was so enthralled by this that i almost forgot to hit the like button.

  • Pretend his left hand is a spider and he's also a comedy genius as well as a genius at guitar.

  • It's all in the beard.

  • Kids that try to b like andy are like lady gaga's penis... Small and shouldn't b there,

  • @13r4d13y101 Actually kids that try to be like Andy actually do something with their life and grow in musical knowledge that only people like you who can't appreciate the musicians of tomorrow only dream about. Trust me, like thousands of others on this earth who look up to an amazing musician and aspire to be anything like Andy Mckee, I am one.

  • @baylorjosephson hey fagot shut the fuck up I am trying to learn how to play mckee you only say shit like that because you live in liek california

  • @13r4d13y101 Look sir/m'am (I have no clue what gender you are) I was not trying to be disrespectful in any way. I am 14 years old and studying this field of music and happen to not enjoy being compared to a woman's penis. I am sorry you said that about yourself. I also do not live in California, I live in an apartment in a town with a population of 2K in little Mormon Utah. Again, I am sorry if I offended you in any way.

  • @13r4d13y101

    lol WTF?

  • this song is just one of those songs i cant help but watch all the way through :)

  • Four years later, and this song is still my favorite...

  • Comment removed

  • @acrock21 No... Your trying too hard.

  • @crzybtch1000 no... i mistyped... thanks for brining this to my attention

  • @acrock21 No.... you're trying to not make yourself look like a fool.

  • @crzybtch1000 Why don't you chill out? You look equally foolish.

  • Just perfect

  • oh andy. i could sit ere all nite and listen to all your stuff over and over again and not get bored. gees i wish i had patience and time to learn guitar. i would love to play these songs all nite long. fuck your awesome!!!!!

  • sublime !!

  • How can he achieve this feeling through guitar?

I mean, I am a drummer, been playing and still do for six years.I am barely playing two weeks the guitar, And I can focus only on one melody, and usually I think to myself "man i need another guitar here" I cant even get close to this kind of sound. - I know its firstly because I am new.

But rethinking it, its the right hand (which hit the strings) that does the job I'm implying, he's so fast and creating so many sounds at once - HOW?

  • @amit369 Keep trying. I've been playing electric for about five years, then a couple of months ago I was introduced to this song. It opened a whole new world to my eyes, so I soon felt the urge of learning a masterpiece like this, but I had to face the issue of having never ever played acoustic. By a tab-assisted, snail-like speed training i managed to get the feel, then it was all about doing it. But, you're right: his magic comes by a well thought, heart driven use of his four right finger...

  • @R4ngeZ3r0 five years, impressive man :). I asked a friend a few days ago what should I do in order to get better - he's a very good player, and he told me that I should just keep playing and improvising, which I do and it works, slowly tho, so I will get a teacher soon and hopefully one day I will be good enough.

Catching this style seems hard, its very cool man you should be proud :).

  • 81 people flew away, never to return to earth again.

  • This is music for the GOOD masses :)

  • I would call it kind of progressive....really had overlooked this one.

  • The Hangover Part 2.

  • Andy McKee - Key to the Heaven ^^

  • 80 people locked their keys in the hovercar.

  • Sounds very Renaissance-y. Any McKee rocks. :P

  • I have a story about andy mckee. Once upon a time he was playing his guitar. Somewhere along his playing his pick got lost inside. He didn't want to stop playing because he would be embarrassed. They now teach finger picking because of him... :)

  • amazing

  • like..............

  • i would never play thumb wars with andy

  • @PathologistReport yeah... i think he would crush you in a sec with his allmighty thumb XD

  • I can't believe how fluidly he alternate picks the same string with his thumb nail.. that's... hard to do properly. Sounds sweet too with the palm muting.

  • 80 missed the right button.

  • this guy is full of win

  • It's the awesome beard that enables him to play like that.

  • whens the tour in Tasmania?

  • 80 peoples brains exploded!

  • spyro?

  • @SoulGuitarMan I kinda got the same feel too... maybe it is?;)

  • makes me think of spyro the dragon

  • @zeroexe003 Lol I thought the same thing. I was a fan of spyro when I was a little kid.

  • I've offically given up playing

  • @nubbleltme

hell, I started playing again when I saw this. Almost mastered this one.... still a tad sloppy on it though.

  • @frostynugs how can you say you almost mastered this one, when you threw out the phrase that you were still a tad sloppy? only andy can master this song. im sure you don't even come close.

  • @mmrgsn because he used the word "almost", jack wagon. That word "almost" means he hasn't quite mastered it yet, meaning he's still a tad sloppy. Also, do you even play guitar? I'm going to use your own logic and assume things about you that I don't know, and say that you don't. So I'm sure you're simply jealous that someone is at least trying while you just fucking suck.

"Those who say it is impossible should not interrupt those who are doing it."

  • @Tokintilldeath been playing guitar for 17 years jack wagon. I also am majoring in classical guitar performance at a very well respected university. i can play circles around you and your friends. get fucked

  • @mmrgsn

Maybe you don't understand what "almost" means?

  • @nubbleltme This should make you wanna continue. We don't do music to be the best in my opinion. Just enjoy what you do and musicality.

  • Sounds like some tracks from Spyro 1. :D

  • @BreathTheDeath i back u up on tht statement dude, good to know we both had a similar childhood

  • @Jmyster4 Yea, used to love those games. Crash Bandicoot too!

    Back to music, it's amazing!

  • When my guitar heart Andy McKee playing his guitar, my guitar turned to me and said, "wow... you suck."

  • the palm mute part sounds like the water temple in majora mask

  • hahaha this song blows my mind every time i listen to it.

  • As i was watching this, i held my hand out, as if to catch something, i wanted to catch the keys to that hovercar.

  • omg i love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Step 1: Play this song in the car

Step 2: Get up to 88 mph

  • @Tokintilldeath

wow. You call me a scientologist?

I've been fighting scientology for the past years, because I am an anon myself. PLEASE Don't offend me like that.

  • Had to come back and revisit this, I soooo wish I had the patience to learn another song like this.

  • what i cant seem to understand is why all these bitches cant just appreciate the music!
