  • Lol i always see fighter jets when i go on an expedition course with outward bound in the lake district, pretty amazing

  • This jag, by the direction it is going in, is probably heading for the Kirkstone pass. Saw four f15E's doing the same, when I was up the Lakes many years ago, great sight , as they flew over the ferry on Windermere and turned sharp right over the small Island.

  • I always liked the little Jaguar

  • @UKkid19 The Jaguar fleet is currently festering at RAF Cosford. I visited the museum in 2010 & I saw Jaguars being used to trained ground marshalling RAF personnel. Very sad to see such a potent ac, with plenty of life left in it being prematurely reduced to a ground training role. Yet another example of Labour folly, now compounded by the Conservatives with yet more cuts. The RAF is now the same size as the Belgium AF-what a ridiculous situation :(

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH That's rather cynical, the British military air forces: Combat aircraft 400 Heavy Transport 60 Helicopters 500. Belgian Air force? About 70 combat aircraft, and 11 Hercules. However since the RAF will have 160 Typhoons, which was purported to take on 7 F-15s and emerge victorious, what comparison are the Belgians and their pesky f-16s?

  • @stig781 You might well call it cynical, I call it a national disgrace. It is reaching a stage were the RAF is so reduced in size that it is in danger of not offering sufficient opportunities for promotion/advancement & it will struggle to retain personnel. The range/diversity of aircraft is very limited now, even compared to ten years ago. Harrier- struck off charge. Jaguar- struck off charge. Nimrod- struck off charge. It is in danger of possessing a very limited capability. Very sad.

  • Vanspilot :-)

  • Checked my log and the airframe log, was def me! Glad I made others smile!

    Be happy! : - )

  • the sound of those engines are amazing :')

  • The Jaguar was also used in the Balkan conflict in the mid to late 90's.

  • Did someone say ahoy me hearty at about 0.31 ? when I was a kid pirates had one leg and a hook for a hand now they have jets!

  • We still have them in India..excellent aircraft

  • What a load of sad individuals you are!

About 150 feet at 421 knots IAS I seem to remember! Put a smile on my face anyway. As for it not being used in combat.........do your research, one of the most stable low level bombing platforms ever. 7 feet up the road to Bagdad with the lights on!

What a great machine, and very sad that 41SQ and Coltishall are no more...........

  • Used in combat just once, wasn't it?

  • I was on 14Sqn based in Germany during the early 80's, Jags saw action during Gulf War 1 (and that was about it)

  • Sad to see the jags retire....but theyre making way for better jets.... so i suppose it has to happen

  • i didnt like the jaguar really but then again only saw her once

  • nice

  • LOL "That was COOL"... actually it was, RAF is awesome.

  • tell you what is sad, the loss of different aircraft in the raf. tornado, eurofighter and harrier. dont think there is much moe than that

  • bye bye jag sad to see her she was a good jet

  • dont you get a choice on what you fly in the RAF?

  • you get a personal prefferance but it mainly comes down to your aptitude etc

  • aptitude? u mean attitude?

  • no aptitude. things like your reactions, how quick you do calculations etc. you do the tests at cranwell during selection. i think theres a video on here of it. seach for OASC (Officers and Aircrew Selection Centre)
