My mom did not even come side the place I do ballet she just dropped me of then left till ballet & jazz was over the she came back & had to come in to pick me up
The teacher did the right thing by ignoring her. Muppetnut is a bit harsh on the parent, but she is right about one thing - Mom (or whoever is videoing) should not be there. And what are those things on their feet? If you are going to put your child in a ballet class, buy real ballet slippers please.
Its good to have imagination and to feel the music like Gina does, but it is just as important to learn to listen and do as one is told..... there is a time and place for everything....... it is the mothers job to teach her child this.
I did ballet when I was 3 years old and paid more attention. Although when I was taught piano my mother made me do it and I used to make up stuff instead of doing scales correctly. Looks like she doesnt really want to be there.
i did it when I was four and I sat down, crawled off the stage, jumped around randomly, and removed my shoes. Yeah. I was definitely the ADHD child...
payless ballet slippers = they look like slippers, but theyre pink so they call them ballet slippers, so mothers want to save money and buy fake cheap shit :P
Gina is a lovely girl and I am sure she will be a famous ballerina one day.She is feeling the music and dancing by herself.Although she can't concentrate, she will next time.
Gina is gorgeous, a lovely idiosyncratic performance. She is feeling the music with her whole body, not fixated on hearing the instruction. She would be wonderful in a dance class that encourages improvisation. She has wonderful fluid movement. I started out in dance and I'm autistic with the attention span of a goldfish. I remember I learned best in a queue with someone's back to me ahead of me and all learned as rote. But the teacher structured in some set time for free improvisation.
The kids in the ballet classes I assisted in acted just like this. So at the end of each class we have "free time", where we played a song and they got to dance around the room however they like, as long as they didn't run. That's why most (not all but most) kids come to class. They want to show off what they can do and feel pretty. If you're open to what they have, they'll be more open to what the teacher has.
She is so stupid that she's ANNOYING!!! Ballet is just not her thing, lock her in a closet or something so I won't have to see her stupid skinny wack body!!!
DEFINitly tryign to show off for the camera she knows its theire and well shes cute but if the camera should be hidden next time or get her used to it just follow her around with it doesnt have to be on record just follow her around with it in your hands. trhen she'll get used to it and wont show off as much next time
I was a dance assistaned at ages 9-12. We had kids that acted the same or worse. Most of the time the parents would ask me if they paid attention just so they know how they act during class because they couldnt watch. Ive seen kids run around the room and one year we had to get an older door to sit at the door so the kids wouldnt run out the room during class. Shes ok. Just a free spirit
I teach pre ballet to 5 year olds and i was told if one acted like that girl i would have to kick them out for 5 minutes until they learn to obey. Harsh i know but they want to be ballerinas
kicking them out doesn't accomplish anything. The kids might act this way because they don't want to do ballet (usually because it's boring for them) so getting to leave them room might actually be what they want. it is different with different schools though.
In all Honesty at my studio if she would have been acting like that even in her first class she would have been taken out because she is affecting the teacher's concentration and the other kids.
o my! maybe ballet isnt thing thing for her. i have a child in my class that is very similar. she trys to overexagerate eveything and wont stand still for the life of her. Gina should be involved in something where she is constantly moving like maybe gynastics, swimming, soccer.
I bet her mom signed her up because she never had a chance to study ballet and succeedd. Why are you doing this to your child? She obviously doesn't want to be there.
omg that class is way stupider than what my dance teacher teaches for kids younger than that age!!! my teacher actually wears dance clothes. as a nice bonus, my teacher takes us to starbucks!
Having 1 free spirit in a class is fine, but when they disrupt other kids who are being obediant it's hard.. trust me I teach and have had a few of those... she's not bothering the others so let her be
ummmm no, thats not funny. true, she is a cutie, but im pretty sure the reason she signed up for that class was so she could learn. trust me, i am a ballet teacher and i am so lucky to have obidient students who listen and follow! they are actually at my classes for a reason. but dont worry! she'll learn eventually. :)

hello, you're a bad parent if you do not go to your daughter her first ballet lesson! that would've been sad!
robinengina 1 year ago
i think no video and mum or distraction present and she would have done better
a common reason ballet schools ban people from watching apart from on parent days when the kids have something to show them

Agreed. This is cute but useless to her future. It satisfies the parents vanity only, not the child's whishes.
