  • the speed king lol

  • thanks and an awesome video my friend

  • Really great vocals by Soto.

  • Soto's voice is bigger than life here!!

  • Marcel Jacob's tone on this song is distinctively more "bass-y" than on other songs with Yngwie. He normally had the gritty midrange thing going on. But it fits the song, I like it!.

  • 1:37 FAIL

  • @rdx123654123

That´s not considered a fail. It´s Yngwie Malmsteen goddamn it!!!

  • its official he can play better with his teeth then i can play with both hands

  • @partyongarth420 awww funny commentos

  • well i hate to say it but i think jeff is better than graham.. 2 very different singers.. graham does the high notes a little more impressively but jeff seems to be able to kinda , be sensible and only do notes he can hit 100 percent.

  • @partyongarth420 check out Graham with Steve Vai- he's as good as on record- in the Alcatrazz days yngwie tried to drown graham out with guitar- with yngwie gone he got his voice back

  • @CrosbyStillsNashYoun Seriously man ,bonnet can sing ...but he loses too much the tune.We never know if he would kick ass or do some fiasco.Jeff really made this song brilliant ,one of the best singing in rock i1ve ever heard. The version i saw with bonnet was just ... beyound bad.no ofense.Peace.

  • @beroth77 I see you are a nazareth fan,so am I,hehe it's hard to find naz fans.Very nice. They will play in my city this weekend !

  • This is Chasing Yngwie - Live in Tokyo '85

I Love This Version Better !!

    Can You Upload More ???

  • I love Graham Bonnet's voice, and charism.

    Soto's also a beast...

Both of them are vocal references.

  • anyone else wonder how the hell he played like 40 notes in that solo with his fucking teeth.. as soon as he started picking hammer ons with his teeth like that was wondering if it was really him or not..magician

  • @partyongarth420 i'm guessing two performances edited together

  • Could have done without the hip thrusting at the start.

  • lol at that wireless. its all strapped to his back hahhaha.. that shits like a fuckin command center.. 85.... when computers were new

  • thats our viking.

  • stand up and shout!!!

  • Great!

  • wtf happened to the guitar neck?

  • No one can replace Graham Bonnet !

  • @tartiff56 It wasn't a replacement. Lol.

  • the ending isnt rly that bad. imo it aint at all, but ya thats jus my opinion. this is kickass. yngwie jus looks so kool playing live. swingin his guitar, usin his mouth, all that good shit lol

  • Brilliant job on this! Putting a greater emphasis on the guitar makes all the difference!

  • I don't know why Yngwie added that extra part at the end.

This was one of the most incredible performances evere, by everyone involved. It really would have rocked harder if they would have just ended it with just the voice and the delay from the voice.

Oh well. Unbelievable vocals. Plus really cool song, and lyrics. This was one of their best performances, how fitting it should be in Japan.

  • Note the Floyd Rose on Yngwie's cream Strat here. He also had a Floyd Rose on his red Strat during the same tour I think.

  • Best singer he ever had and then mark

  • what an amazing voice jeff scott soto has!!

  • Marcel Jacob did a good job on bass too. He sounds so clean. R.I.P. Marcel :(

  • Jeff totally nailed the song, amazing !!

  • @bloodpollution Yep. Soto was reaching his career peak here. Look for the bootlegs from the Trilogy tour when he returned to the band briefly after Boals. His vocal range was amazing back then.

  • Jeff is a vocal beast here

  • vito bratta sid in Twitter :''Told Yngwie he was cute. Mike was pissed... front guys9:16 PM Jun 19th from web

    THER WE R TODAY....HAHHAH

  • had the same video years ago... by ten years...i still think it a bit odd that that played Hiroshima in Tokyo

  • I doubt many of them spoke English.

  • Comment removed

  • Fucking Jeff Scott Soto!!

  • Yngwie is my guitar hero

  • Yngwie is THE guitar hero!

  • PERIOD

  • the best of yngwie ,,,he played just enough notes ,,,now a days he plays too many

  • He also converts all of his Strats that have 3 bolt necks to 4 bolt necks. His hands are so large that a 3 bolt neck would shift out of alignment on him so he prefers the stability of 4.He uses graphite nuts as well. (no comedy intended)

  • No he doesn't: He uses brass nuts; says they provide more sustain; it was something that was popular in the '70s (Though I hear it's MURDER trying to keep your guitar in tune w/ one! Ugh! However, somehow, Yngwie does it!). Okay, laters!

  • BRASS NUTS

  • Yngwie only has stock Strat tremelos on his guitars. He does not use Floyd Rose or any other clamping system. His bridge is set up to "float" however which is done by loosening the mounting screws on the bridge plate and adjusting the spring tension to allow for that in the back. That's it.

  • He did use a floyd on some of his guitars early in his career but it would not have the locking nut just the tremolo because the floyd is superior to a fender trem if you wont to have lots of floating up and down but without the locking nut the tuning stability is the same as any fender type trem.

  • This fucking song is awessssomeeeeeee!!!soto is really better than alcatrazz singer!!

    yngwie is god!

  • Soto sounds so awesome! Not like your typical 19 year old.

  • come on!!!

It was another Era,,, Jeff Scott Soto is one of the best vocalist ever!!!!

  • but sadly, those ARE his real clothes

  • jaaaajajjajajajajja

  • looks like yngwie had an early version of the floyd rose on that guitar, the single locking version without the fine tuners and locking nut

  • you mean just a normal Tremolo thats been around since the 60s?....yeah lol

  • No, if you look at the arm, it's not a vintage type arm, and a couple of shots are clear enough that you can see it's not a fender tremolo. Looks like an early floyd to me.

  • this is in 85 so it cant be an early version of a Floyd

    but thats a fender tremolo

its not string through the body its with the blocks just like Floyd but

    it has no Fine Tuners

  • They've been around since about 78, and that's one right there.

  • i know they started in 78 and they didnt really take off till early 80s to mid 80s

Fender tryed to copy them at one time and i think they got sued for it

and thats what i think thats what it is

besides the early versions of FR didnt look like that

  • Fair enough, I was mostly responding cause I didn't like how you laughed the guy off for thinking it might be something other than a vintage style fender, which it clearly isn't. That's really all I can tell about it from the video other than that the tremolo arm itself is exactly like a floyd style.

  • It is an older floyd tailpiece. He had it on a few guitars without the locking nut. This is 85 so..;.he probably bought it a few years before.

  • 1:12 zomg

  • Awesome Signer !!! ... -_-

    Yngwie rock's !

  • Yngwie is great here, but the singer's voice lacks a real sense of depth to it

  • your right. decent effort. but no depth ?. plus the fact ,,i think they wanted to get this song over and done with as quick as poss ??

  • who the heck is that singer!!?? wow!!!

  • He's playing a non scalloped guitar.

    Malmsteen is GOD

  • I've been fortunate to see some great players in my 41 years; Al Dimeola, Brett Garsed, Frank Gambale, Yngwie, Vivian Campbell, Ritchie Blackmore, Shawn Lane, EVH, Jake E. Lee, Brad Gillis,Strunz and Farah, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch. About half of those guys I got to meet at guitar clinics. Got to the club about 2 hours before the gig and got to listen to Shawn Lane warm up in a empty club for about 45 minutes. What a humbling exp!

  • Nice ^^

  • i love the sound of that rosewood fingerboard strat, smooth, silky, but still with articulation...

  • AWESOME!!!! \m/

  • Why oh why did Yngwie get rid of Soto? What a great voice! I like him better than Bonnet because Bonnet's voice was limited and Soto's a lot more diverse.

Great solo, for any guitarist out there. Yngwie's playing was extremely fluid.

  • Bonnet Voice has no limit !

  • My favorite part is Jens's 6 second solo

  • wtf is that a poodle singing?

well at least the poodle can sing

  • Bonnet was awesome and special.

  • Yngwie play with a reverse neck for lefthanded so cool! Wtf.

  • Graham Bonnet got no musical approach to my op

but Jeff Scott Soto was one (!!) of YJM's best.....You can get this live on record

    - No Parole From Rock'n Roll-live sentence

  • Man! Jeff Scott Soto was a Badass!!!

  • I saw this tour! Yngwie opened up for Dio in Seattle New Years Eve 85/86. What a show. My 2 fav gtr players of the 80's. Saw Yngwie with Joe Lynn Turner in Virginia on the Odeyessy tour and that what awesome as well!

  • Cool. I caught this tour as well, but had awful seats. Went on the day after we heard Cliff Burton died. All around us, people talking about it, had news clippings etc.

  • OMFG you're lucky as hell.

  • When i saw him on the Odyessy tour I was about 4 feet from him and you could hear every single note he played. Even when he was shredding or playing lighting fast arpeggios you could hear everything like you were sitting in his living room. When I saw him in Seattle in a 12,000 seat arena it was the same! Had a tough time hearing Viv with Ronnie but Yngwie was so fast AND clean.

  • Bonnet is great on the album, but totally sucks live! Jeff is amazing as ever, here

  • Hmmm...i like the tone of this rosewood fingerboard.

  • a maple fretboard would sound almost the same - the fretboard doesnt make that much of a difference

  • Well actualy the wood of the neck is rsponsible for almost all of the tone in the "atack". listen to "erotic nightmares" thats caracteristic of rosewood ...

  • Playing any kind of old Alcatrazz song is always amazing, just like this one. Yes it is true that the song performed here is down tuned with a 1/2 step and also it's true that it is played a littel bit accelerando than how was performed with Alcatrazz. Soto sings very well. Very good performance !

  • yea his headstock is different because thats the way he put it together...or bought it that way, or is using somebody elses.

  • jss looks and sings a hell of a lot better than this now

  • He sings good here but Graham Bonnet's vocals are incredible to reach and he is a little forced here!!! This song is played 1/2 step lower than the original...A good version indeed!

  • i love the old yngwie with jss

but his headstock is different then a normal strat

  • it's a left handed neck attatched to a right handed body

  • no its just a reverse headstock.

  • its the same???? lo que dijeron los dos para mí fue lo mismo. saquenme de esta duda.

  • no, if it was just a reverse headstock, then the logo wouldn't be upside down.

it's a reverse neck, because all necks are on piece with the headstock.

  • fender makes reverse headstock strats, but the logos are right side up.

this logo is upside down so he got it from a left handed strat because no manufacturer sells replacement headstocks. all headstocks are part of the neck, so if you want a different headstock your going to have to lose your old neck.

    should have stayed sober longer!

  • you got it right beyondward.
