musical knowledge is essential........ issac hayes is the original, then it was massive attack, from which tricky took the sanple for this and then portishead also used it, all banging tunes. recycle reuse ;)))

Not only is the sample the same that Portishead used, but the rap is from Massive Attack's "Eurochild," which Tricky also did.

I have this on vinyl. Tricky used to be in MASSIVE ATTACK. Love both of them. I feel so privileged to have grown up in the 90"s.

Yeah, it's Glory Box and he sampled it 15 years ago! There was a good official video for this but I don't see it here. Tricky often cross-pollinated between different projects he was involved in (for example Massive Attack's Karmacoma has the same lyrics as Overcome).
