  • @Mojo1982 Excuse me, man. But your point of view is really stupid! We proud of our history and never lied under any conquerors - despite of "civilized" europeans ;)

  • Your post makes no sense. Alexander Nevsky shamlessly colloborated with the Mongols/Tatars. Novogord/Muscovny/Kiev/Vladimir were under Mongol/Tatar rule for 300 years afterwards. Russians submitted to Mongol/Tatar rule, that's a fact!

  • @Mojo1982 lol, you are not sereouce! Are you?

  • @Mojo1982

    Fuck you and your democracy...

We are free ortodox russian with strong belief in monarchy.

  • @Mojo1982 Catholic and there western offshoots nothing more then heretics that preach violence and hatred with there crusades and massive deaths in the America's.

  • W medievalu II bitwa nad jeziorem Pejpus poszła mi dość łatwo. To ruscy gineli więc nie liczyłem się ze stratemi. Moja lekka kawaleria poszła do frontalnej szarży i rozwaliła krzyżaków. Sama. Ale tak się wykrwawiła że piechota musiała rozwalić duńczyków.

  • The moment Teutonic forces appeared was so thrilling! Thx :D

  • Are you objecting to the video's reference to Alexander Nevsky, the film? I think you'd have to take that up with Eisenstein, but he's dead.

  • no, it totally inaccurate to call them germans

  • Yeah, I don't think you're understanding that I was making a direct reference to the film "Alexander Nevsky," in a scene where the Teutonic Army appears and one of the Novsgorod soldiers exclaims something like "The Germans!" I'm pretty sure that was deliberate in "Alexander Nevsky," because that film was in part Soviet propaganda to boost morale during World War II, hence the overt references to fighting "Germans." It's also just a classic film, though.

  • rly? didnt know that.

but it pisses me off when people say shit and they have no idea what theyre talkin about and some weird storys come out which are nothing else than one big lie that other people start to believe

  • You really have no idea what Eisenstein's Alexander Nevsky is right?

  • no u

  • Teutonic order=Almost Germans

    idiot

  • dont you get that everybody could join the order, german or not moron?

  • Thats why i wrote ALMOST germans. There were not only germans or did i wrote that???????

  • Teutonic order was a Germanic order...

Mostly Modern day Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Parts of Switzerland, Northern Italy, etc....

  • almost:P germany is prussia

prussia = teutonic order only the civilized christian version

  • @Iceberqe Teutonic knights derive from germanic holy roman empire.

  • i WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS DUDE

  • watch my total war vid, comment rate and subscibe!

  • No.

  • Yes...No I will not.

    This video is epicly awesome.

  • Great film, great music.nice shots of the game... =)

  • which battle is best known, The battle at Neva River or the battle of Lake Peipus?

  • lake peipus

  • what graphics card do you use it must be a good one?

  • I actually don't have a great graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 for an HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop. But a 2 GHz Core Duo processor and 2 GB of RAM doesn't hurt.

  • i have dual core and 2 gb ram but my graphics card is realy bad would you recommend a NVIDIA GeForce 8500 coincidently i have a HP pavillion too =]

  • excuse me for paranoia, but russian voices was made terrible...

  • its true they made them a bit stereo typical on the game but then again look at the enlish ones lol

  • This the famous "Battle of Lake Peipus" where Aleksandr Nevsky defeat the Teutonic Knights?

  • Yes it is.

  • great video... total war has come along way since I last played it, although I was expecting your infantry to be completely crushed by the Teuton Knight charge... they just held like a wall hehe

  • Thanks much for the comment. I personally think the charge should have more impact in Medieval II Total War, but eh...I guess that's what mods are for.

  • Again, well done. Almost as if Peter Jackson had remade it.

  • Thanks all for the enthusiastic response - Windows Media Player's troubles on my computer means I probably won't get around to remaking this soon. But this was a pleasure to make, particularly when taking inspiration from greats like Eisenstein and Prokofiev.

  • i miss the teutonic Ritterbrüders! i even don't see any Halbbrüders :S xD

Thats why the teutonic order lost of nevsky :P

but nvm even with them they would lose of this great man ^^

  • it was made with M2TW not with Kingdoms

  • That's perfect, Wow!! I have a better version of the music.

  • observercorps Bravo! what an amazing video!

  • pretty good

  • You should get the expansion were you get to do the actual battle with Teutonic Knight infantry and calvary not just calvary. But anyhow I like it and I love the game nice work.

  • Thanks, I was thinking of trying a Kingdoms version. I just don't have the time anymore to mess around with Windows Movie Maker - it was pretty terrible to work with and made the video editing process incredibly tedious.

  • That's kind of the whole point of this vid, in reference to the film Alexander Nevsky. But I should also point out that part II is in both the description and video response...

  • "old music"? The Battle on Ice has gotta be THE most powerful piece of music ever written! This wasn't the best version though.

  • Bosh and pathos. Alexander was the simple general from Tver. It has been employed by Novgorod and merchants for 10000 gold roubles - are the facts. When there were hearings about "horned alliens". Then all have inflated. Then (however as many and now: (at all did not know where this Germany to be.

  • Observer, you should put whatever of the soundtrack you have on youtube.

  • It's just Battle on the Ice for the moment, unfortunately

  • This is awesome! Its almost like a remake! You should do it again once the Medieval II expansion comes out. That way, you could use the authentic Teutonic Order and Republic of Novgorod factions instead of just the Russian and German ones.

  • i couldnt recognice whos who somtimes :P

  • Generally the Russian units had blue/red, and the German units had yellow/black - just because it's realistic that way ;) Hopefully the camera work wasn't confusing.

  • Where are all the flags? Can you turn them off or something?

  • 1. Go to your "Medieval II Total War" folder.

    2. Find the file preferences.cfg.

    3. Right click on it and open it using notepad. (If the file isn't there or has nothing in it, start M2TW and go to the main menu, then quit.)

    4. Scroll down to the [video] section and find the line:

    show_banners = 1

    and change this to

    show_banners = 0

    Banners are now turned off.

And thanks, I was considering a remake (time allowing) when Kingdoms comes out.

  • well in the film the german teutonic knights had white cloaks and sheilds with a black cross looking a bit like crusaders but with a black cross not a red on.

  • teutonic knight dude the teutonic order made the baltic crusade

  • Greatest film score in history

  • Oh sorry now I see waht music you used oups :)

  • Yeah, Prokofiev's score really made that film for me.

  • Hey this is realy good!! :) What music you used?

  • it's the Alexander Nevsky movie soundtrack, that is composed by Prokofiev ;-)
