what time of the year was it? i live in coogee now, i would love to see something like this!

@onquecreate I posted the vid one week after the event but don't expect this to happen again in a hurry.
It's pretty unusual for this sort of weather to appear in Sydney.
Then again, Queensland and Vic are underwater, so you never know. maybe global warming is screwing up weather all over the place :-)

@beauk It's as though you happen to see a Polar bear wondering around in the Out Back.
You think 'what the heck??? Is that real!'
Where is this?

@frumpyb Coogee bay, Sydney, Australia.
Super twister. I've seen this once, but that's a great capture there. Nice view outside your window.

@GeoffJennyOliver Thanks! Couldn't actually believe what I was looking at. Then suddenly 'shite gotta get the camera!' ;-)
@DaveTimperley It seems almost unbelievable that this was Sydney. Amazing really. I remember seeing some footage once of a waterspout being avoided by one of Sydney to Hobart race boats, but that was out to sea. Once again - great catch.
@GeoffJennyOliver Yeah, nothing really big ever happens in Sydney.
It's the sort of city where folk hear a Tsunami warning, and walk down to the beach to have a look.
