I used to play runescape, i cant say i hated it, it was enjoyable and the community was friendly and helpful, Graphics doesnt really make the game imo, As long as theres a good community a mmo can be successful.

@JRigals Well by looking at all the other MMORPGs I don't find any difference. They all have constant grinding, boring quests, & copying each other's gameplay. I've played many MMORPGs & any of them I have played as long as I have played RS. Giving the characters actually faces, detailed walls that aren't a texture pasted over, armor/weapons have specularity along with other detailed effects. I don't think there should be any complaint about the gameplay since basically all MMORPGs have the same type of "click click click" gameplay. RS level rate is actaully moderate. Hell, a lot of games takes days to get to level 5.
@TheRetroZombie First it gets addicting, but then you just have the feeling of hating RuneScape, especially when you get annoyed from some of the Updates that Jatex is giving RuneSpace.
@TheRetroZombie Not the BIG BIG Updates... The minor updates, sometimes they bugged it and they could never be patched which is why they had to restart the Browser (Maintenance), reload EVERYTHING they updated on RuneScape... That got me angry...
@TheRetroZombie because it is popular and WoW fans have grown up to WoW and can't except anything else. That is why 90% of mmorpgs are claimed to be WoW clones. WoW is a copy of everquest and everquest is a copy of DnD, and DnD is a copy of paper dungeons, ect.
@Iomegadrive1 actually there was Meridian 59 that came out in 1996 which had similar gameplay though it was in first person perspective like the old Elder Scrolls games and Doom. It had the grinding, pvp, crafting, spells, etc.

I mean I had a good F2p experience in the game and you can use most of the skills, just a few are for members. I'm happy with all the skills except for range, I don't see why they can have only the bronze crossbow... might as well take crossbows out of the f2p servers... also yew bows would be nice. @squishless Used to play Allods online and it was basically just another MMORPG clone in the market. I did like its theme and artistic style but got bored after making a few level 5 accounts. Its leveling is way too slow, I think the game had lost a lot of players from bad updates including myself, quests repeat a lot which is basically "Kill 10 of these" and I know it's not going anywhere because that's how MMORPGs work now and days. I pretty much quit MMORPGs and now playing real games.

4. It's not waiting, it's quite fun doing the original quests that are not all the same unlike in many other MMOs.
6. I paid for the game for a little while, and it wasn't half bad really. A lot of new land and new items and such, I felt like I sunk to a world that I've never seen or explored before. I probably could've googled Runescape to get a full wiki of all the items and such, but I'd rather explore the world and find out stuff, unlike many MMOs
1. 30 years ago there weren't even any games. Runescape is more like, I dunno, 2000s.
2. The combat isn't that bad, I usually play PvE in Runescape and I haven't eaten anything in battle. Ever.
3. What's wrong with the UI? It's just fine.
4. Fun fact: Big Rigs does not have any AI, just a scripted car that goes around the loop a few times and then stops. Besides, in Runescape the enemies find you and bash you, and occasionally throw a few spells.

@FURRYDulaman Well, that's like just, your opinion, man. The graphics aren't bad, you just need to get used to them. If you still play N64 games on an emulator or games like Half Life 1, I'm sure you wouldn't classify Runescape's graphics to be bad. As for the sound effects, they're retro. I like them.

@HALPCat you obviously haven't played wow, especially cataclysm. they redid most of the classes. and before this redo you never pressed the same button 5 times in a row rofl. just look at rogues, i stealth>cheapshot>mutilate>kidneyshot>mutilate>mutilate>eviscerate and get kills, that's pretty diverse. and there's tons of other abilities that i use on top of that.

Also my comment was quite directly concerning rogues. You spam whatever you wish for 5 combo points and top it off with an eviscerate and slice and dice in turn. Runescape is just something that I'd like to play sometimes when I'm not playing WoW.

@Iomegadrive1 actually there was Meridian 59 that came out in 1996 which had similar gameplay though it was in first person perspective like the old Elder Scrolls games and Doom. It had the grinding, pvp, crafting, spells, etc.

@YehSmoshWorld Yeah, RS isn't doing so well no more but F2p isn't nothing to complain about. I mean I had a good F2p experience in the game and you can use most of the skills, just a few are for members. I'm happy with all the skills except for range, I don't see why they can have only the bronze crossbow... might as well take crossbows out of the f2p servers... also yew bows would be nice. Yeah, Runescape isn't the same no more. They're going all WoW fantasy type.

@squishless Used to play Allods online and it was basically just another MMORPG clone in the market. I did like its theme and artistic style but got bored after making a few level 5 accounts. Its leveling is way too slow, I think the game had lost a lot of players from bad updates including myself, quests repeat a lot which is basically "Kill 10 of these" and I know it's not going anywhere because that's how MMORPGs work now and days. I pretty much quit MMORPGs and now playing real games.

4. It's not waiting, it's quite fun doing the original quests that are not all the same unlike in many other MMOs.
6. I paid for the game for a little while, and it wasn't half bad really. A lot of new land and new items and such, I felt like I sunk to a world that I've never seen or explored before. I probably could've googled Runescape to get a full wiki of all the items and such, but I'd rather explore the world and find out stuff, unlike many MMOs

@nanderv Let me correct a few:
1. 30 years ago there weren't even any games. Runescape is more like, I dunno, 2000s.
2. The combat isn't that bad, I usually play PvE in Runescape and I haven't eaten anything in battle. Ever.
3. What's wrong with the UI? It's just fine.
4. Fun fact: Big Rigs does not have any AI, just a scripted car that goes around the loop a few times and then stops. Besides, in Runescape the enemies find you and bash you, and occasionally throw a few spells.

If you still play N64 games on an emulator or games like Half Life 1, I'm sure you wouldn't classify Runescape's graphics to be bad. As for the sound effects, they're retro. I like them.

@HALPCat you obviously haven't played wow, especially cataclysm. they redid most of the classes. and before this redo you never pressed the same button 5 times in a row rofl. just look at rogues, i stealth>cheapshot>mutilate>kidneyshot>mutilate>mutilate>eviscerate and get kills, that's pretty diverse. and there's tons of other abilities that i use on top of that.

Also my comment was quite directly concerning rogues. You spam whatever you wish for 5 combo points and top it off with an eviscerate and slice and dice in turn. Runescape is just something that I'd like to play sometimes when I'm not playing WoW.
