Actually, Gabriel is the first belmont to use the Whip.

Its only when Gabriel started to use it as his standard weapon, it got titled as "vampire killer" :)

Oh and this game will also explain on just why Vampire Killer whip is the only thing that can hurt Dracula :)

@FeuerFremder That's what I meant. Was he the one who gathered and destroyed relics of Dracula or was that his son? I know that the Belmont of 1999' defeat of the Dark Lord was called Julius and there's the grandson of Simon Belmont(just remembered the name) Juste. Also I figured that the whip did damage to dracula because it's a holy weapon blessed by soemone or other. And if this guy's not Gabriel or one I mentioned that whip's gotta be pretty damn old.

The Whip was created by Rinaldo Gandolfi through alchemy. He then maintained and upgraded it for years.

The first "long-term" user of the whip was Gabriel Belmont(who might as well be the very first Belmont, considering he is actually a bastard son of cronqvist family who chose Belmont as his surname at the orphanage) from then on the whip was used by Belmont bloodline and the last known event was the demon castle war in 1999 although possibly NOT against Dracula.

And theoretically, Vampire Killer is not "holy" weapon. Its a cursed weapon which was created by sacrificing willing, yet tainted soul and it drains life out of any non-Belmont that tries to use it. The curse does not affect belmont bloodline because belmonts are cursed with fighting dracula with that whip.

This music is pure win! The game itself, though...I wish they didn't feel it necessary to have a flaming whip and copy a lot of the moves from GOW3. A nice chain whip with a morning star (maybe as an upgrade) with the sounds would be perfect.

@omgwtfpwnbbqable I think that the use of a 'flaming whip' in both GOW and LOS is simply so that the player can easily see where they're attacking - plus, Castlevania did the 'flaming whip' thing years before GOW back on the early Nintendo consoles.

The organ intro from "Bloody Tears" is used here, then it kind of stops, then bursts into "Vampire Killer". Apparently, the game will have a few other songs used throughout the series, whether this is true or not, I do not know. I just hope they don't fuck this up by straying too far away from the core plat of what Castlevania is about....getting to Count Dracula, and fucking killing him!!! Please, as a HUGE life-long fan, I beg of you, don't fuck this up.
