@DebraLeaO ...I agree.. I just 'loved' the song and then typed the song title in youtube.. I was very happily surprised that Paul McCartney had written this fabulous tune.

I would love to believe he wrote it for Linda...

This is a brilliant post isn't it.. We Downton fans have to band together in homage to a fantastic series.. I am really looking forward to series 3, it is being shown here in the UK in the Autumn..

@wenglishsal Paul McCartney gave himself a challenge: while Linda was out grocery shopping, he challenged himself to write a song before she returned. Calico Skies was the result.
