this is about the same size of the one i just seen at a near by lake...maybe bigger..ive never seen nothing like it...it freaked me out...looked like a big land turtle..

Alligator snapping turtles gain about a pound a year. The one at the Oklahoma Aquarium was born sometime in the 1880's.

I hope mine gets that big some day. Its going to be a while though. it seems my common snappers grow much faster

You'll be dead by then. Alligator snapping turtles have a remarkable longevity, if you know what i mean. They can easily outlive a human.
