  • Love it!

  • a simple and lovely song by talat

  • He lends life to the song

  • the finest contribution of indian civilization to the world is the urdu language; without this ancient, beautiful, complex civilization there would be no talat, no rafi, no sahir and no naushad. niether ghalib or mir taqi; nor bhule shah or waris.

my heartfelt salaam to this wondrous land which gave the world much, while asking for little in return.

  • @Nusrat5791 I must agree that music has evolved to a very high degree in India. The worst thing about urdu is its alphabets. They stink because they are not phonetic.

  • music is by Nashad . Yes NA-SHA-D . Not Naushad Ali of Baiju Bawra .

  • i wish i had you live singing in front of me....

  • old is gold ,this is realy listenable music.close to our feelings

  • the poet is khumar barabanki, great song

  • gr8 voice,with gr8 meaning...

  • Any one try to sing like this great man hard to find I love this song...PVK36

  • The sad, mesmerizing voice, the melody of the music, the choice of lyrics and the flowery linguistic capability of this Poet's paradise, the Urdu Language and the purity of the imagery it creates in the mind....makes this one of the All Time Greats. It goes straight to one's heart and soul. Timeless classic!

  • one of indias best....

  • Lesser number of songs sung by him but all hit songs

  • Old Is Gold.

  • Very boring Song

  • I am always moved by every song sung by Talat Mehmood. He was really one of the very few greaest voices of all time.

  • great song

  • Beautiful and very emotional song.

  • I absolutely adore Talat Mahmood's soft and romantic melodies. They take me to another world, another time.

    What an outstanding singer.

His golden voice and this beautiful song echoes in my ears.

  • Why you bloody indian and pakis always fight for urdu or hindi. This is excellent ghazal though I am neither paki nor bharatia dhoti

  • I agree. Why to fight...enjoy the song.

  • awesome Talat! Arguably the very best of Talat and of course one of the all time best Hindi Song!

  • i am from punjab, amritsar just want to correct it was an urdu not hindi song

  • Even though Md. Rafi remains my greatest favourite male singer of Hindi songs, I enjoy songs of others like - Talat, Hemant, Kishore, Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor and Manna Dey too.

Like Mukesh, Talat was a beautiful person and acted as the hero in many movies. His soft song will remain forever etched in the memory of the Indian's psyche.

It was Naushad Ali who brought out the very best of Talat. But then, it was again the same Naushad who lifted Rafi to dizzy and unachievable heights.

  • i really love Talat Mohammed songs Hes a genius!!

  • oi hoi.. va vaa..

  • brings back memories that I will always cherish in my life

  • I forgot my Dad's fav (I LIKE IT TOO), from "Ek Saal", SAB KUCH LUTA KE HOSH MEIN AYEN TO KYA KIA.

  • This is just a "trailer" of this guy's talent. All the BW films, he was ghazal king, check out all his tracks. eg:- Aaj kisene baaton baaton meh jab unka nam Jayen to jayeb kahan Zindagi denewale sun Andeh jahan ke andhe raaste Teri Ankh he aanson pee jayoon Hai sab se madhur woh geet jise ham dard ke Sham-e-gham he kasam aaj gham hi hai ham And of course, the immortal... Aye mere dil kahin aur chal....!!!! PEACE to all people who listen to him, and also who don't.

  • Our loss is God's gain. Not at all fair. What a song and singer.

  • legend singer

  • Talat's voice is no doubt great. It has almost tranquilizing effect. I remember falling asleep listening his songs, and of course, fantasizing desi style in those days (fantasies limited to holding hands) while imagining singing this song for her.

  • @ombrahma exactly ... fantasies those days is holding hands!! whenever i hear i dream about that history of humanity !!

  • @ombrahma I TOTALLY AGREE,SUCH BEAUTIFUL MUSIC+VOICE,NO ONE WILL EVER BE BLESSED WITH THE VOICE.AMEEN

  • Our great A. Wali jan translated this song and sang it so masterfully that is more pleasant than the Indian version of the song.
