well im not the best to discrib it but i'll do my best. theres basicly a GM (game master) who make up a story for your characters to go on. then you and whoever else is playing not counting the GM has characters in differnt classes (warrior, cleric,techmarine etc.) who go through the story and kill monster useing dice and do things like that.

Yeah you got the description of DnD pretty nailed down. There's actually a 40k role playing game out now called Dark Heresy. Your characters can be just normal civilians, or guardsmen, or inquisitors, or anything really. You might want to take a look at it, it's really cool.

ah well Ice Guard is really good as well. It is an Imperial Guard novel (name kinda says that) that are Valhallan Ice warriors (the russian looking ones). Very action packed.

You should have a bigger dice pool. a cheap and good way to increase it is to buy the GW dice box. $6.00 for 24 dice, a scatter dice, and an artillery dice.

My friend has 200+ lol, I play a lot of Apocalypse games so... you need all the dice you can get with 90 ork boys, 2-3 titans, a billion tyranids, and a crap load of Tau and marine.

But for basic 40k game(round 1,500 points) I'd say 30 dice is good.

hey, i play da orks. i do think though, that the flames of the WAGHHHHHH is burning out, since i am the only one at my local shop to play orks. what i find is that younger kids like the orks, teens like space marines, and the older teens and adults like either necrons, darkeldar, or chaos, and the adults always seem to use nids and IG
