  • can anyone tell me if there is an exploit for the earliest gamecube version on the wii

  • this sucks I want to run the hack but it only works with jap and american versions of the game :(

  • oh... poor hacker ^^

  • ???

  • i have the german pal version and alpha hack 2 works just fine :)

  • Can you send me the pal download in english plese :)

  • okay =) rapidshare(.)com/files/93414097/twilight-hack-v0.1-alpha2.rar use "rzdp"!!!! as data.bin in your sd card directory /private/wii ...

    =)

  • Thanks No Ill try and make wii run linux !! :)

  • Can you private message me cause any time I enter that It goes on to wikipedia :)

  • no it works with pal too

  • The only inconvenience of this hack (at least last time I checked) is that code you load still runs as Zelda TP. I mean, it hacks Zelda, which happens to run on the Wii, and so you can use the Wii, but for now (I don't know if it will be possible in the future) it is limited to access things the Wii has allowed zelda to do, so you can only access Zelda's save file and not create your own, and things like that.

It's still great, though, that it will allow to run some homebrew with a softmod.

  • uh, no.. they have opened it completely. this has already been updated to dynamically load ELF's from the SD.

  • lol

  • :D scroller!

  • Finally! Are you able to run code in privileged/kernel mode too? (Or whatever it is called on Wii's CPU)

    Also, fuckings to ps.

  • Still no input:(

But this shows that Linux on Wii is possible in the future^^

Hopefully not to far away in the future:P

So thanks keep up the good work.

  • Have you posted the source code for that hello world demonstration?

  • holy shit thats 1337.

  • Where can I get this exploit? Also is the source code for this available?

  • Heh. Crediar and blasty helped with code, and the exploit is from Bushing et. all. (The comment is just a joke, guys.. It was posted that way when the video was still set to private).

  • Either your TV automatically switches to a composite AV or component input when there is a signal (which only makes sense if there's only one input), or your Wii is connected using...RF!!! If the latter is so, SHAME ON YOU! ;)

  • Yes, my TV uses an AV to RF converter. The plasma hasn't arrived yet.

  • OMG!!!!!!

  • I've seen a couple of people loading .elf files with this hack, but the binary on the site does not appear to have the ELF loader, it is just the text and penguin from the initial release. (Just got my Wii in today, I was so happy that I had purchased a compatible version of TP to do the hack with.)

Is there a version that does .elf loading that I am missing, or are these demos simply the result of people playing around with the initial hack themselves who know much more than I do?

  • Those people have a WiP version if I remember correctly.

  • The irony...

Calling Crediar and Bushing (it's a little ambiguous) fags when Bushing is in part responsible for what you see, and Crediar released those wiitools.

  • huh? I was replying to someone that said it was fake... where'd the post go? Nevermind.

  • Yea, it was Crediar's comment. Thus my response.

  • Whatever, my bad.

  • I've tried it myself, it isn't fake.

  • it's no fake!

  • This isn't a fake!!!

    Twiizers (and Lazmike), you rule!

  • thanks lazmike, great poc.

  • like yo MOMMA!!1
