  • that is the intro of NHL 12!

  • he never really played for a cup contender though... too bad he deserves a cup!

  • That save IS the intro of NHL 99

  • Best goalie to never win a cup. Its a shame too, not only was he an awesome goalie to watch, he's a great guy too.

  • @B24zootsnoot What do you mean "never to win a Cup"? He played terrific in defeating Colorado in Games 5, 6, & 7 of this 1998 opening round series & was a huge part of winning the Cup that year... for Detroit. If Edmonton had not won this series then Wings would have faced very difficult task of having to defeat both Avs & Stars on the road in order to get to Cup Final. Joseph & Oilers did Detroit the same favor previous year by upsetting Stars in opening round, so they helped Wings win 2 Cups.

  • the one he made against dallas in the 97 playoffs was better and in a more important game.

  • cu-jo the bestest goalie in NHL.

  • he went to my school lol

  • I remember watching this game live in the playoffs in '98. At the time this was the most amazing save I have ever seen, and I don't think that I have seen any better since. Of course this is as equally large a huge choke on the part of the colorado player with an empty net, but unbelievable nonetheless.

  • It was only an amazing save because he was so badly out of position.

  • Kudos to CuJo. Amazing save

  • CUJO!

  • I think the one he made against dallas the year before in game 7 OT was better

  • I like Cujo, and I think he was an excellent goalie. This save, though, is one he had to make because he was A) out of position, B) way overslid the mark getting back into position. So while on the one hand it's pretty amazing, it's a portrait of him being amazing in spite of himself. I wouldn't call it his best save for that reason.

  • Most spectacular goalie I've ever seen. Doesn't get the credit he deserves. Cujo, Mogilny, Berezin, Domi, Thomas. Ahhhh good times, when we at least had players with character, instead of fucking Rikard Wallin. Hopefully Phaneuf changes things.

  • I can't stand it when people say that CuJo sucks. I mean, if I were to name the top 8 goalies from 94-04, CuJo is definitely on my list. Here goes (not in order):

    Hasek

    Roy

    Brodeur

    Belfour

    Dafoe

    Kolzig

    Joseph

    Richter

  • @Brownsc3 Your goalie list is pretty solid but Dafoe seems to stick out a bit. He had a pretty sick 98-99 season, but other than that he was just a good starter. I hate to say it, but I think I would put Osgood on that list for when he played with Detroit in the 90's. He had 5 out of 7 30+ win seasons, and one with only 6 losses.

  • @Brownsc3 The list you have provided the goalies together played more than 100 seasons. At least 91 times these goalies didn't win the Cup. Imagine if they played on great teams!

  • Dayyummm

  • lol...thats how i became a fan of the maple leafs...cuz cujo was on their team in nhl 99

  • He even admits that leaving Toronto was the worst mistake in his hockey career.

  • nhl 99!

  • shit brouder cujos cool

  • Just brilliant, I play football I guess Americians and Canadians know it as soccer. Ice hockey is different its a lot harder and the puck is smaller!

  • indeed. ice hockey has the same idea as soccer, put a target object into a net, but hockey combines the athleticism and endurance of soccer with the hand-eye coordination of baseball. plus, you're on skates. and you're vulnerable to a bodycheck every time you have the puck!

  • I used to love Cujo still do though he's off his game now

  • i saw curtis joseph at the gym today, i asked if he was done with the preacher curl lol.

  • Cujo is one of the greatest goalies of all time period.

  • Cujo was amazing until he left toronto. Since then he kinda fell off the map. Needs to get back into his groove hopefully by next season so the leafs can actually get in the playoffs

  • He 4th in wins

and tied for 1st in losses.

  • yeah but he played on some terrible teams.

  • I watched Curtis Joseph for a long time while he was in St Louis. He was great. In 1993 he shut down the Blackhawks in a year when the Blues made the playoffs in the last game of the year.

  • I'm going to respect your opinion WWE, but I will say that DiPietro is nowhere near as consistent as CuJo is.

DiPietro hasn't played for the longlest time, as he's been out with god knows what, but what I'm getting at is, DiPietro isn't as consistent as Curtis.

  • CUJO is not the best. Not top 10, not top 20, 30 maybe, 50, i think so. HASEK is the best. Brouder is not as good considering he has less then the average shots per game. Roy was great. but his bad era gave him a bad face. Still a great goalie.

  • True, CUJO isn't the best, but not in the top 20?

We're talking about the guy who has the most saves in history, while playing 70 games less than Roy, who's in 2nd place in saves? The guy who's fourth in wins?

HE had a 32-21-3 on a PHOENIX team in 06?

  • danggggggg this is sickk.

  • curtis joseph is one of the best goalies ever along with patrick roy

  • luonge dipietro and dryden arent even higher than joeseph

  • Rick DiPietro, better than Joseph? AHAHAHA, that's why Joseph is third on the all times win list.

  • I correct myself, he's fourth. But that's hardly any different.

  • yeah no doubt you retard, DiPietro is 27 and joseph is 41. And i still stand by my previous statement.

  • Dipietro is better than Joseph, currently at least. But no doubt that Joseph is the overall better goalie in his career, one day, maybe one day DiPietro can surpass him.

But in history, DiPietro doesn't stand a chance compared to Joseph in his prime.

  • there are also a number of current goalies who are better than Dipietro if you ask me .. Brodeur, Luongo, Mason etc..

  • He Plyed with the ReEdwings and he SUCK

  • that is way not true cujo isnt near as good as johnny bower and martin broduer and that list of great player

  • Not only Joseph's best save, one of the greatest saves you'll ever see.

  • That save right there shown how dominant he was and is! It was the last time him and Roy played against each other in the playoffs and what a battle it was with Cujo comming out on top! Welcome back to Toronto!

  • hes not dominant now at all -_- hes a fucking back up

  • cool save but the timing is a little off.

  • What a hero Cujo was in that series. Hard to get a better save than that one.

  • unless ofcourse you are martin brodeur

  • damn straight.

  • yeah it goes brodeur , roy, hasek , then cujo if you want to talk modern day

  • I think Hasek, Roy then Brouder, CUJO sucks, he's too frigen old. Hasek beet Roy in GAA and Save percentage even with having a greater shots per game.

  • Cujo sucks because he's too old, but Hasek is the best because .. because .. because .. he's too old and retired from the NHL?

  • Comment removed

  • brodeur is just a best.

  • fuck you

  • Roy is still better than Hasek... look at the amount of wins he has.

  • You can't judge goalies just on wins. Roy always played behind amazing lineups, guys like Sakic, Forsberg, Kamensky, Deadmarsh, Blake, Ozolinsh and Foote come to mind. Hasek played for some terrible Sabres teams, and still managed to win the Vezina 6 times in 8 years. Roy won it 3 times his whole career.

  • @Brownsc3 haske was great for buffalo your right

  • Means nothing, means he played on better teams.

  • that was an amazing save but again it was kinda stupid of the avs player to just slide the puck on the ice but still an amazing save

  • Greatest Cujo save of all time by fare

Oilers vs. Stars 1998 cujo sprawls cross the goaline and just gets the puck to keep the oilers in the playoffs on the faceoff weight feeds buckberger they go down and force a game 6. then go on to win the series.

  • lol

    floor hockey is awesome

    but ice is way...way better

  • i know ive done it in floor hockey! not ice though

  • That save is on the intro of NHL 99

  • hahah yeah ..great save Joseph!!!!

  • @Miklu19 Yeah I remember that... It's followed by "GREAT SAAAAAVE JOSEPH!!"

  • ive done that in floor hockey but i could never do it in ice lol

  • liar. you cant slide like that.

  • he used to be good, but i dunno wut happened to him over the years, and Roli is kinda following in his footsteps

  • what the hell man?! did u see him in Game 3 when Kipper got pulled? i guess not.. by the way, he has the best saves against average percentage in the playoffs right now, 100%....

  • I'm with you, dude, Cujo is a great veteran goalie.

  • thank you, cause for a 41 year old goalie, he kicks ass

  • Wow cujo just amazes me he has more wins then sawchuk! Now thats a hall of famer on my count

  • that wasnt gunna miss, after the save maybe....luck for the win

  • the sounds off fags

  • that was gunna miss the net

  • SWEET!!!! move Cue Joe!!!

  • is that Rene Corbet shooting?

  • yes indeed

  • nice to know hes now playing for my hometown team

  • leafs need this guy back

  • Even Though I Never liked Edmonton,When CUJO played I would cheer for them! CUJO Was and is atill awsome!!!

  • he just got traded to the Flames

  • nice

  • Cujo will be back in the NHL this second half....he just proved he can still get it done by winning the spengler cup with Canada in switzerland and the player of the tournament!!........Go CUJO!!!!

  • just got picked up as kippers backup in calgary

  • cujo was awesome on the leafs...

  • he was......

  • I wish Cujo would come back to Toronto he can replace Raycroft

  • hes good sucks hes not starter asnymore

  • He is a free agent. Now he comes to the Spengler Cup in Davos and plays for Team Canada! I hope he will make some amazing saves!

  • what happened to CUJO? havent seen him around in a while

  • CUJO!!!!!

  • CuJo is awesome..I think you'll see him end up in Pittsburgh.....he's just what they need!

  • Unbelievable.

  • hes great i hape someone signs him. the leafs a goalie and he can steel a game for them easily. and this was a good save

  • cujo rox

  • wow CUJO ROCKS!!

  • wow

  • lol he got pwn by his own teammate

  • that save was fucking amazing i remember jim hughson calling his famous "GREAT SAVE JOSEPH"

I'd always bug my friends any time he said great save cloutier but now i hear it more often with louie in our net

  • i saw it from a diffrent angle, on tv. and in a video game intro. fucking amazing

  • he sucks it was his fault thathe wasnt in net

  • he got tackled by his own player

  • u idiot
