  • My dad got me this before he got his disease. I think I might do this. Before he gave it to me he took it to a gunsmith and had him put iron sights and a full scope mount.

  • Nice moped, Mary Jane.

  • why do you steel wool it after you paint it?

  • i just bought savage stevens 200 .223-350$,nikon prostaff 4-12x40-180$,bipod w notched legs w swivle-50$,cheek rest-20$, Nikon tall turrents 1/4 moa-70$ WOW i spent more than i planed but this rifle will be sick !!! cant wait till it comes in next week! I plan to get a 26"barrel for around another 300 =D

  • I just got a Stevens 200, 270 cal for $180.00 at Academy Sports..sweet

  • @mhwright79 Man thats awesome! Is it on sale or is that the regular price?

  • @mhwright79 :o Dang, thats a good deal. I paid $400 for mine at Bear Mountain Sports. I got the package with the 3-9 x 40mm Bushnell scope, and rifle is camo. I think camo is more, and then they were out of stock, so I had to pay another $40 for them to ship one in. Did your gun come with a scope?

  • thats great! Im new to long range shooting and to be honest the longest ive shot is 100 yards, i know the difficulty in shooting long range, so i bought a book called "Applied ballistics for long range shooting" and ive learned tones about ballistics. if you want the true bc of your caliper just tell me what ammo you use. there are 250 pages of experimental data on different calipers that allowes you to make accurate drop compensating and wind drift c. you could easily push 1000 yards w practice

  • I am by no means at all an expert. I can do 1moa at 100 yards depending on the day and i can hit a 12x12 inch steel plate at 400 yards. Nothing spectacular by any stretch of the imagination but I don't think its too bad.

  • thanks, looks like i might be spending 320 anyway lol, no big deal any way. here is a good place to shop for quality cheap ammo "ammo.net" hope you have fun shooting. by the way how experienced are you at shooting, like whats the best you have done?

  • @jliss217 we actually have a wholesale sports here locally in Oregon that I went to to buy mine.

  • i just tried to order it and it says "Based on your state of residence, you are not eligible to purchase a firearm for pick-up at this time" im in illinios, is this why, did you pick yours up, have it shipped to ffl? thanks lol

  • @jliss217 good idea on caliber. Wish I had done that. I have basic weaver 2piece bases and am using Burris ZEE rings they are steel, very strong, and will hold your scope just where you put it. I'm truly wishing I hadn't gotten it in .308. I'm considering selling it because I cant afford to shoot it.

  • thanks i just found the website and just before i was about to buy the more expensive one, maybe i can buy some nice turrents for my scope. i think im going to put on the nikon 4-12x40 prostaff bcd on top w some nice rings. what kind of rail did you put on top ive seen a few different options? and im also going to get it in 223 to save some money on ammo!

  • can you please give me a detailed reply of where you bought this rifle, ive been looking and the cheepest is 320. thanks

  • @jliss217 I bought mine from Whole sale sports. They have a few locations around the country and they also have a good website. A quick Google search should get you some good results! At this moment (Subject to change) the website has them priced at $270.00 USD and I believe they will ship to a local FFL. So if you order online you can expect that price + shipping + how ever much your FLL charges for that sort of thing.

Hope that helped. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

  • do you think you could make a wood grain pattern on these stocks? or does some one make a wood stock for them?

  • @jefferdc boydsgunstocks You tube user boydsgunstocks |

  • alot of overkill for varmint lol cool vid though

  • That's an affordable .308! That's a cool way to put some patterning on the rifle, with the glove technique. I always wondered how you'd get that without messing it all up. Now that's a unique style, for sure. Oh! Speaking of aerosol melting stuff:

Some types of underarmor will be completely eaten away by an insect-repellent with a high concentration of deet. It's true! I was surprised to find that out.

  • @DemonHide I will have to remember that about deet... haha could be bad while in the middle of the woods...
