Hi, my iPod-Touch won't restore because it had an virus ( I think.. playing safe ) because of something weird its doing on its own. So I tried to restore it with the current version of the iTunes 10.1.1 or 10.1.1.4 and as I restore it, in the middle it stops and says that an error occurred and it had parentheses of (2009). Could you tell me how I can possibly restore this? Thanks

@tasha8296 my 2nd gen ipod had the same problem but unfortunatly your ipod is screwed. So i dont think this cant be fixed at all as it is a problem with the hardware inside the ipod

I put the usb in the back of my desktop i even made sure all usb ports were open and i got a brand new usb cord for the ipod touch 32gb 2nd gen but it still keeps sayin unknown error (1601) just doesnt let me get through. Any suggestions?

Hey. I updated my ipod touch. The updating bit was fine, it was only until it started restoring. It stopped and i got an error 37. I use windows 7 on my laptop. My ipod had that picture with the usb wire connected to itunes, and then it just turned off. Now, this happened with my sisters iphone a feew months back, and we realised that we had to turn off our firewall. But as soon as i connect my ipod touch to the computer. I have a message saying that the device cannot be recognise, please help!

i think all usb port work same, but sometimes a specific port will not respond to a gadget when it has history of improper usage on that port such as unplugging it not in proper way.

@pitbullqueen07 I watched that other vid on error 1604. Make sure that you hold that botton long enough when you put in the cable. It can take up to more than 10 seconds. Just wait for the chime Another thing that you could try: Put the cable in the ipod/iphone, turn it off, after that hold the top button and the round middlebutton for ten seconds, then release the top button while still holding the middle home button, and hold that home button for eight seconds. Does this bring you in DFU mode?

@ringalos1234 Sounds like you got stuck in DFU mode.. Get it out of DFU and then try to connect it in Itunes. When Itunes recognizes the ipod try your restore.

1- Change the USB port the phone is plugged in to. Do not plug the phone back in yet.

2- Reboot the computer then plug the phone in and immediately restart the phone in DFU WHILE CONNECTED to the computer.

3- Hit restore.

When i plug my ipod in it says that it says that its in recovery mode and it needs to be restored. When I restore it goes through just about the whole process, but when it gets to the ipod, the ipod starts to load (so it can finish resoring i guess), the load on the computer goes real fast and then it says that error 14 has occured. I've tried your method, but it doesn't work and I've never use jailbraker or firmwire ever b4 cus i have no idea to what those are. Please i just go this for xmas.

Error 1013 is caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore from an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported.

thanks for pointing this out, I had the same problem with external harddrives plugged into the front of my PC. I guess the front ports do not provide the sufficient power for dievices like iPod and harddrives
