I think Nardwuar is referring to "Dead" from Mayhem when he talks about the "dead animals in a bag" thing. That's the first thing I was reminded of, and I don't think it was very common. "During one tour with Mayhem he found a dead crow, which he collected and stored in a plastic bag. He often carried it around with him and would smell the bird before performing, in order to sing 'with the stench of death in his nostrils.'"
