  • this was hard as hell that eddie kendricks jam should have been on the the temptations movie

  • @uzipolo that song was on the temptations movie

  • Thanks SERTA for posting. This is a treat for real music lovers

  • 5:54 for the young fellas that think poppin your collar is a new thing. LOL

  • hes is definitely in the top ten best EVER down till this day hands down!

  • Tell me Ruff wasn't the greatest ever! Even with the terrible audio he pulls this s+++ off!

  • Can u make this viewable on cellphone please

  • These folks were slim and sexy. SO unlike the obese disease we see today in the 2000s.

  • This man right here. The Dynamic David Ruffin has made me love this song more. Luther Ingram sung it great too. But, Ruffin truly is confirming he will keep this love,at all cost.

  • Happy Happy Birthday David Ruffin! Keep singing your heart out with the angels. :)

  • I love David Ruffin!!! Simply the best ever and forever!

  • love these raw footages...

  • BTW, thanks serta for uploading the video. I wish Mr. Washington would let us see the footage in its entirety. But we can't complain, can we? :)

  • Well I think David is the better performer than Eddie. David was more extroverted than Eddie on the stage. Eddie had a laid back style where I don't think he liked to dance much. As for looks, to each is own. Beauty in the eye of the beholder. I do agree that their singing styles are complete opposite and can't be compared. I think Eddie had the best counter tenor I have ever heard that will never be duplicated. It was light, fluid and smooth. I wish both of these men were still around.

  • Everyone have their opinion, but i would rather see Eddie perform anyday and he was so much better to look at than David.

  • All man he was about to tear into my song!

  • GODDAMNIT!! They cut David off to show Eddie Kendricks lip syncing!!!?? FUCK!!! Eddie wasn't even a quarter of the singer David was.

  • @soulsetsmysoulonfire Brother Eddie could sing his butt off but he was no where near as talented as David but I have to agree with you why the hell would they cut this off to show him lip singing

  • @soulsetsmysoulonfire Eddie and David are in two different vocal classes, so you can't really compare them to one another vocally. Both were incredibly talented IMO.

  • @almavieja22 100000000 percent right.

  • David = pure emotion. The definition of SOUL!

  • This footage is so sick. What's crazy is that this is a dance show from 1973 (at least the kendricks clip) -- not long after soul train was syndicated.

  • Spectacular, wonderful! David was getting down!

  • Why did they cut it off on the best part

  • Ruff is bad. There's nothing else to say. This is a bad brother. Power and height in his voice.

  • Wow!!! Where did u find these??? This is fantastic! David Ruffin is the man lol

  • David Ruffin at his absolute best!!!

  • Now is past wonderful. THE BEST TWO VOICES AND FRIENDS!

  • This is wonderful, get ready for the rebirth of "THE VOICE", WHEN A MAN TIME HAS COME! FOR A TIME SUCH AS THIS1

  • TWO THUMBS UP!! I've seen a picture of this performance, but never saw the actual video until now.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Did you record the rest of the live Eddie Kendricks performance, or did it cut off? If you have it, I'd LOVE to see it!

  • Too good for words...

  • Speaking of " I Love You ".......David Ruffin.....who could't love this guy!

  • Thanks for givin' us a Great Christmas Present! Gratitude and Blessings..

  • I appreciate anything Eddie Kendricks. What a treat. Thank you.

  • Thanks for posting this. David was a fabulous singer. Too bad he didn't do more real soul, like this one. He definitely was on the wrong label.

  • 2 more clips from Eddie Kendricks at the end. One is new to YouTube. Enjoy!

  • @serta ....wow thats my friends Dad playing the sax and singing, i never knew this. Amazing. To answer your question they were part of what would end up being a much larger band called Eramus Hall. They were from Detroit and was given their name by George Clinton. They only recorded two albums, on westbound i believe. They played many concert dates as far as i know were still gigging in the late 80's and were studio musicians at Arista records.
