awesome stuff man!! the bone rigging in that program reminds me of 3d max and the bones there. is Anime Studio real hard to learn or is it pretty straight forward?
Program reminds me slightly of FantaVision, you actually don't animate with this kind of program, you just draw frame 1 and frame 50, and let the program vector the animation.
hello, ammm if i import an scaned image; this image can be animate like the draws you draw on the program??? respond please. ohh and tellme what you mind about toonboom studio???
@masteritdude yes, you can draw what ever you want and animate it. It is a very useful program and I would recomend it if you were making cartoons or youtube videos.
SICK! Question - when you're exporting flash files is there any way to tell it not to use the whole space - like is there a way to crop the whole piece? I export scrolling words for my website all the time but I can never tell it to just export the size I'm using. In stead it exports the whole project space.
How can I put only a part of an arm in foreground? Like a t-shirt an an arm. There where the shoulder is, the arm must be behind the t-shir. But the rest of the arm must be in front of the t-shirt. For example when he is clapping or something like that.

i really wanna learn how to use an animation studio, so i can make funny cartoon clips for my youtube channel. Is anime studio the best one to use? how easy is it in reality, i understand that your artistic skills are far superior to mine, but once I have a model drawn, how easy is it to animate the lips and so forth?
Yah this guy can do some crazy stuff with Anime Studio. As I recall, he used to have a video on here where he explained how he did some of that stuff, but I can't find it anymore. If anyone knows of it, let me know!
When I first heard about this program, I brushed it off because it had the word "anime" in it's name. Giving me the impression that it was for anime obsessed teenagers who want something easy to make the next Inuyasha or something. But after watching a few videos, it looks so much better suited for professional modern western animation than Japanese. It's like 3D animation but 2D and vector based.
magician4011 - you can draw your own character and rig it for easy animation, or you can use "clip" characters that others have created. There are sites where you can buy characters, props, and backgrounds, or you can do it all yourself. It's up to you. It has everything you need to create just about any kind of art you like, and you can import anything else.
I have a question... I have never done anime so this may sound stupid to people that have... But it's possible to draw or design a character right? Or do you have to use from a list they have? Please answer
Your work is awesome! Anime Studio 6 looks pretty cool! I have AS5 right now and 6 is on the way. I have a few toons posted myself (just starting out) AS5 is the easiest animation program I've used. I hope I can get as good as you :)
how do you tween the face rotation? it looks very 3d, and i could see that there were multiple face layers, but where did the frames in between those face positions come from?
hey Vern... been a long time since I've been on the forum. I remembered way back when you posted some shots of the lion head... wow! 2:24 Is that rasterized? Is that the 3d bone script? 2:30 looks a lot like the way I do heads, except I'm sure you do bones. The 3d bone scripts was way too difficult for me so I have stuck with switch layers. The down side is sometimes the graphics shrink when tweening--pain!
I think Vern should design the tutorials for Anime Studio. He's a seasoned Pro and a talented Artist. I just can't stand it when some tech geek teaches a powerful tool like Anime Studio. They don't really give an idea of the software's true power.
Indeed, I would be more interested to know if these were imported 3d meshes or just drawings with switch layers? Especially that scientist with the full head turn. Is this all blend morphs? And where the hell can I get the tutorials this guy learned from! haha
2:16 WOW!! is it possible to have this kind of set up in flash? the way the animation can be controlled to move his head and features at once with the control to drag his head around
@realfelixneko7 it's simpler than it looks. It's kinda like playing with toys and moving the parts in ways that you like. Just think like a kid and let your imagination flow.
@TheForsaekn how long does it take? do you have to move them frame by frame or do you do little series of movements at a time? im looking into making a ten minute short and im wondering if itd be easier to do it this way or go live action...
Haha so am i. I just learnt it for an hour two days ago so im not soo good. Maybe you should get an art teacher! Once I get better ill try to explain briefer...
Is it possible to draw a single still figure on paper, than scan it, and animate it? If so... I should try this program. And one more thing: If I draw a face turned to the front, and want to turn it to the side, should I draw the face in both positions, or just in one, and the software would calculate the rest?
Alright, so i'm used to flash, but i lost my disc when my older computer crashed. is there a way to make regular frames? because lets say i animate a guy walk left, then jump, when i preview, he just walks diagnally into the air. its very frustrating
Ok I am going to give it to ya straight! On the Anime studio Six box it says "Import your own art!" No I cannot import my own hand drawn art on this program... so my so awesome looking foward to create animations are no more! I cannot believe that I spent 50 bucks on a program that lies to ya!

the good thing about programs like this is, you spend a lot of time on the initial drawing, but the rest goes by fast
in traditional cell drawing you draw every picture faster than that, but you need several more of those.
In the end, both techniques are good, you just need to know when to use what technique/program
