  • fat ass freinds lol

  • HEY! i'm fat and i ride :(

  • Hi Buddy, Sorry about the "fat" comment. That was my first YT Vid and I got a little excited. I didn't intend to be mean. I've seen a lot of "fat" guys that kicked my butt out on the trails. I really meant to find someone with some weight to help push the seat down. Have a wonderful day, Mel

  • @MegaMel10 Hahaa no big deal i was just kidding, plus i sorta like being the big guy who rides because people are usually like WOW that fat kid can ride ahaha

  • Hi, Thanks for your follow-up note. It's all cool. Great to hear that you're out there gettin' with the program. I just go back from riding my DR650 3,000 miles down Baja and back. We started in Yuma, AZ. Rode 1,000 miles of dirt and the rest on pavement. Have a super day, Mel

  • Love your energy! loved the vid

    You have a great day

    Cheers

  • Hi, Thanks a bunch for the feedback. I rode the KTM up the Captain Jacks trail here in Colorado Springs yesterday and had a blast. Have a super day, Mel

  • any ideas on how to get rust off a chain? It's not alot just a little here and there. Also can you reccomend a lube?? thanks

  • Hi, I just did a lot of riding around the Yucatan in Mexico. Lot's of salt spray and rust on my chain. You could use a wire brush on it first. For O-ring chains, you can't get oil into the bearings of the chain so you only need to oil it occasionally to lube surfaces that slide and a bit of lube on the sprockets to help wear between the rollers and sprocket. Any oil will work for that. For non O-ring chains, use chain oil. I like the Harbor Freight or other low cost brands. Mel

  • if i want more acceleration what should i do with my sprockets loose a tooth or add and to wich one?

  • Hi, Thanks for your note. For more acceleration you want lower gearing. Easiest is to use less teeth on the countershaft sprocket but you can also add more teeth on the rear sprocket. gear ratio is divide the rear teeth by the front like 48\12 = 4.0

    Have a super day, Mel

  • @MegaMel10 ok thankyou its a yz100 10t in front 41 in back im going to add 1 in back should it b enough?

  • Hi, Time for some Math practice. 1 in back is 1/41 or about 2.5%. Adding 4 - 6 teeth in back would be 10 - 15% - much better. One less in front is what we usually do but I don't think you can go less than 10 teeth, right? Mel

  • hhahaha.. he most likley drank a couple energy drinks before this ;D and i love it when he said " and get your fat ass friends even to sit down on it " LMFAO!

  • Hi, Thanks for watching the Vid. Yeah, I was pretty excited that day. It was my first YouTube. Have a super day,

    Mel

  • great tip, you can also run a ratchet strap over your seat, hooked on both sides of your swingarm, and ratchet it down to get your swingarm to that point. I had a guy show me that trick when I was 11 or 12 yrs old (23 yrs ago), and I still use it.

  • Hi, Thanks for the tip. I wish I'd mentioned that in my video. My buddy Tom Petty lays over his seat and pulls on the swingarm but I don't seem to be able to get the bike down far enough that way. Have a super day, Mel

  • this guy is on coke...

  • @chaosdrummmer From right behind the chain guard. Touching the subframe itself.

Same place you measure from if you're doin it with a measuring tape or whatever.

  • Ha.. I've never thought of or seen someone put a bunch of pressure on the suspension to do it...

I just keep my bike sittin up and put 3 fingers together and put them up right behind the chain slider on the sub frame and make sure the tension is close to there. Works great.

  • Hi, The three finger method is good once you know that your chain is not in tension with the weight on it. Thanks for your note. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • @MegaMel10 Dude your cool as shit I would ride with you....

  • Hi, Thanks for your note. I appreciate it. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • @ryanthie is that 3 fingers beside the bottom chain guide or 3 fingers at the end of the top chain Slider that stops the chain grinding away at the swing arm. heaps of people recommend the 3 finger rule but dont say where it should be taken from

  • only 1 i found that really knows what he is talkin about i knew when the bike has weight on it the chain gets tight but others always says do the 1 and 1/2 inch shit ...i do it your way.

  • very good video thanks for helping me out with the chain adjustment

  • would a

Apollo AGB-37 125cc Gas Dirt Bike would that be good for trail riding

  • Hi @dragata1, Yes, that bike would work for trail riding. I have one almost identical to it. For serious trail riding, the wheels are a bit small and the suspension is a bit stiff. They make them with strong springs for kids and heavy adults. The AGB-38 would be better if the 36" seat height isn't too tall. It has the bigger wheels. I don't know how stiff it's springs are. I'm sure you could have lot's of fun on the AGB-37. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • @MegaMel10 apollo? wtf i that some cheap ass chinese shit? i gotta yz 125 :P

  • Hi, I'm pretty sure the yz125 P should work the same way on chain adjustment. Try to get enough weight on it to move the suspension to half way thru full travel (half way to bottoming) and check the slack versus all the way at the top. Just about every bike should have the most slack at the top and least at the mid point. Hope that helps and have a super day, MegaMel

  • Hi, Thanks a bunch for the feedback on the Vid. I'll try to make more. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • Damn, I like this vid already, I dig the ENTHUSIASM!

    Make more!

  • Hi, I'm glad you liked the chain tension video. Thanks for responding, MegaMel

  • wow i nevr though of it that way, great tip!

  • Thanks for the video i appreciate it! This helped me alot, i thought my chain was too loose but i got one of my fat ass friends to help me out!

  • Hi, Glad you enjoyed the video. Sandie and I are riding our V-Strom now from TX to Panama. We're in Panama now. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • Hi,this is a great video & nice bike to...I'm looking at buying a new chain for my rm125 ,it's new to me and hav'nt counted the teeth on the sprockets yet but i was wondering.......if it says the chain will fit rm years 1999-2003 with 12/49 sprockets and rm1993-1998 with 12/50 sprockets, but mine is a 2001 with 12/50 sprockets does that mean it will fit my bike ???just wondering if you could help out with that???

    Thx...

  • Hi Ricky, Yes, the chain that's listed for those bikes will also fit your bike with the 12/50 sprockets. The difference between the 49 tooth rear sprocket and 50 teeth is very small in regard to chain length. Your adjustment on the rear axle position will allow for that difference. Check your sprockets for wear. If they are pointy/ bent over, they should be replaced. You can get by running them almost until the teeth fall off. Have a super day, Megamel

  • Hey thx MM, have a great new year!!!!

  • LOL this guy is the best! I have a couple fat A friends. Make more vids and i'll watch

  • Hi, Thanks for your comments. I appreciate them. I do have about 50 some YouTube videos now but only a few on motorcycles. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • hey mel thanks for the help i well let you know if it works.

  • man your crazy but cool i just got my first bike and dont know to much about them and the chain is losse how do you tightin it? its a ktm 250 exc 2 stroke

  • Hi, Glad to hear that you got a KTM 250 EXC. Great bike! I have the KTM 450 EXC. Just loosen the axle nut, loosen the locknuts that keep the two chain adjuster bolts tight, and then turn the chain adjuster bolts to move the axle forward or backward. Move each of them the same distance to keep the wheel straight. Sometimes those adjuster bolts seize to the aluminum threads in the swingarm. Put some anti-seize or grease on the threads before you put it back together. Have a great day, Mel

  • LMAO!!!get one of your fat ass freinds to sit on your bike. XD

  • Great stuff sir.

Now i just have to wait for my fat ass brother. lol =D

  • mines an 07 gs500f with adjustable screws. :-/

  • Mega Mel U rock!!! I am 33 going on 17 and I hope that when I get to your age I am just as "nutty"!!! Great way to simply such a complexified topic. My fat ass buddy is comin over tommorow to help me. Keep up the stoke my friend. God Bless from Ireland.......:) P.S. - keep the tips coming if you can - they should give you ur own series.......

  • Hi, Wow! Thanks for the nice thoughts. I loved your message. Hope your chain adjusting went well. I posted a couple of kayaking videos a couple of weeks ago and will probably post one on roasting marshmallows tonight. My wife Sandie and I have been traveling with three Grandkids in our RV for two weeks. We did water-skiing at Lake of the Ozarks (might post a video on it) and camped at a Missouri state park (Van Meter - American Indian historic site) last night. Have a super day, MegaMel

  • whiskey? lmao

You're totally right! I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry that I did.

    Thanks,

    Mel

  • you`re probably a fat ass...

  • "get one of your fatass friends" hahahah

  • beatiful bike

    i love it.

    i have a XR250R

  • Hi, Thanks for your comments. I think the XR250R is a great bike. Someday I hope to find a 250cc or 300cc, 4-stroke trailbike that weighs around 225 pounds ready to ride, has 75 mile fuel range, around 9 inches suspension travel so it's not too tall, plush suspension, soft seat, and heavy flywheel. I ride some really knarly trails and my friends have some Gas Gas Pamperas that work really well on them. Unfortunately the Gas Gas doesn't fit all my criteria. Have a great day, MegaMel

  • nice vid! thanks
