The Stars won the Cup the summer after my 2nd grade year. I got this video shortly after on my birthday. I literally watched it every single day when I got home from school, had the thing memorized word for word and can still watch the video and speak along with the whole thing, and I still watch it before every Stars game I go to. Go Stars.

I remember this like it was yesterday. I woke my mom up cheering for the Stars that early Sunday morning. She goes, "Did they win?," I replied "Hell yeah! And look at 'em. They played their yeahs off!" I was so excited that the Cup had come to my home state.

The real winner was actually Buffalo Sabres! It's a shame that in order to promote the NHL in a Sun Belt they just gave the win to a franchise that's now failing and most likely will be relocated in the next few years.
@QweffL Seriously... sorry to break the news to you man, but the Sabres were down in the series any way, and if Buffalo had proven they were the better team it wouldn't have taken them 6 more years to get back to the Conference Finals, but hey I guess you can keep thinking the Sabres were the winners in this series, I'll just keep on watching videos like this that show the Stars lifting the Cup!!! This video gives me chills everytime. I miss Minnesota ( btw they lost in 2 Stanley Cup Finals, '81 and '91, not 3 ). But Im still a huge Stars fan. What a team that was that won it. Dont know if there will ever be another like it. So much character. Belfour, Hull, Keane, Hatcher, Modano, Carbonneau, Reid, Zubov, Skrudland, Ludwig, Langenbrunner (never shoulda traded ). The list goes on and on.

We gave 2 heart and soul guys that helped you guys out big time in 03. It kills me to see Langenbrunner in another uni. The stars were not comfortable with Avery. Yes "wolf" i can blame one player because the proof is there in the off season, and during Avery's short time with the stars that his presence was negative. Once he left, the stars have been winning a lot more games more consistently.

yes the skate was in the crease, however the puck was in the crease BUT controlled originally by the offensive player outside the crease. As long as the is not touched by a defensive player the puck is considered still in the control of the offensive player...as the rule book read at the time. If THE Great One says it was a goal it was a goal.
Yes the rule changed the next year, but the goal was good.
well its okay they had a great year, and with Turco they can go to the finals again, theres no shame in losing to Detroit, they are a talented team, they did a lot to go to 6 games with the most talented team in the league.
the wings are saturating the leagues fans. everyone wants to see them fail except for their own fans. dallas is the true champion deep within the hearts of many fans. fans will always go for the team that has to fight the most to win and the team that faces the most adversity throughout the years. Dallas will always fight until the end and their fans will always be great and when they win the next CUP it will be the most deserving in years for the NHL.
As a stars fan I agree completely. The wings have been great during the playoffs this year. Mind you, they've had a pretty easy go of it... they got a lackluster Colorado team and a heavily fatigued stars team... but that doesn't change the fact that they've been the best team since October (injury issues aside). So major props to them.
It's nice to kno that there are fans out there, that give other teams props for what they have done, unlike other hockey fans you don't have any class.
if buffalo fans are still bitter and still calling it an illegal goal, you need to recheck your facts because before the playoffs started that year the nhl added a clause to the skate in the crease rule making that exact scenario legal, then of course completely abolished that rule during the offseason
Stars were whinny last night. Wednesday's game against the Ducks. Ducks won! There was no contact between Bertuzzi and Turco, so the ref did the right thing for not calling interference against Bertuzzi. Turco was all whiny throughout the game. So, were were Dallas so whinny last night's game, eh?

I remember that winning goal by hull... it should have gone upstairs (his skate was in the crease and at the time, that wasn't allowed - for those that had forgotten)...
BTW, i hate the sabres, so i'm not saying they should have won :p

yes the skate was in the crease, however the puck was in the crease BUT controlled originally by the offensive player outside the crease. As long as the is not touched by a defensive player the puck is considered still in the control of the offensive player...as the rule book read at the time. If THE Great One says it was a goal it was a goal.
Yes the rule changed the next year, but the goal was good.

well its okay they had a great year, and with Turco they can go to the finals again, theres no shame in losing to Detroit, they are a talented team, they did a lot to go to 6 games with the most talented team in the league.

the wings are saturating the leagues fans. everyone wants to see them fail except for their own fans. dallas is the true champion deep within the hearts of many fans. fans will always go for the team that has to fight the most to win and the team that faces the most adversity throughout the years. Dallas will always fight until the end and their fans will always be great and when they win the next CUP it will be the most deserving in years for the NHL.

As a stars fan I agree completely. The wings have been great during the playoffs this year. Mind you, they've had a pretty easy go of it... they got a lackluster Colorado team and a heavily fatigued stars team... but that doesn't change the fact that they've been the best team since October (injury issues aside). So major props to them.

if buffalo fans are still bitter and still calling it an illegal goal, you need to recheck your facts because before the playoffs started that year the nhl added a clause to the skate in the crease rule making that exact scenario legal, then of course completely abolished that rule during the offseason

Stars were whinny last night. Wednesday's game against the Ducks. Ducks won! There was no contact between Bertuzzi and Turco, so the ref did the right thing for not calling interference against Bertuzzi. Turco was all whiny throughout the game. So, were were Dallas so whinny last night's game, eh?
