  • I used to watch this when it and 'I do the rock' came out, back in the stone age when HBO was free.. I was an instant Tim Curry fan.

  • Aha :) it's Frank!!!

  • The person dressed as Frank at 1:35 is Dori Hartley, the first person to dress as Frank for an audience participation.

  • 02:43...Rock on, geosande!

  • My mom used to have this cassette. She had a brief Rocky Horror phase in '79.

  • He's a gentleman by implication.

  • 1:35 DR. FRANKNFURTER! :D

  • He's a sex god ♥ damn I would love to umm NVM I'm not 18 yet only 15 xD

  • Love the cameo appearance of the woman dressed as Dr. Frank-n-Furter!!!

  • They play this song on the radio every now and then but I never realized it was TIM CURRY! Wooooot! Great song! He is so cool!

  • used to see this before the show every friday and saturday nite at the clinton st in portland oregon. so glad to find this song i had the album but gone now but this brings back the memories

  • what is the year?!??

  • @LucoLuchi either 79 or 80

  • What a flashback! I used to have this album on cassette back in the day, and our local Rocky Horror theater would play this vid before the movie.

  • Thanks for posting this! Looked in my drawer and found the original album I've had since 79. We made a tape of it and would listen to this driving home from school almost every day. LOL! GREAT ALBUM!

  • when was that? 1970?

  • he is the best singer ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have 1 question: IS TIM REALLY GAY??? please answere me XD thanxx

  • WOW, I am so amazed... I feel like a complete dork... I've loved Tim Curry my whole life, as an actor, and never knew he even MADE music... I am so floored... I LOVE this... He sounds like Bowie a little, and is every BIT as sexy if not MORE so... Now, I'm in love...

  • Guess 11 ppl didnt oil up their dance machine

  • Powerful Voice

YOU WOULDNT THINK THAT ID SPEND HOURS OUTSIDE FRENCH POLISHING MY COOL AND FEEEEEEELIN so strange.

  • 1:34.....when Tim see's that woman he starts to walk a little faster. He must of been thinking "Oh, god no.....not again!!"

  • It was the early days of video (obviously), and the shots weren't really planned ahead of time. Mr. Curry kept everyone relaxed and entertained with funny quips between takes. He has a razor-sharp mind and wit. Tim's lyrics on his albums are really brilliant as well. I worked for A&M records and was in the studio with him and on the tour with him. Good times! Decadent good times!

  • I "played" sax in the video. (Music track was by the famous David Sanborn.) It was not shot at Paradise Garage (though one existed at the time) but at a Roll Royce sales/repair garage in the West Village on Perry Street. Tim Curry is gentleman of the highest order. I consider him "royalty."

  • @geosande thank you so much on clearing that up.How was it on that video?

  • @shawnie01 And it goes like this :D

  • Tims fucking hot...still is in my opinion

  • @ThatVideoChick911 Yeah, baby! You can say that again, he STILL is!

  • i love how innocent he looks in this and he looks so evil in rhps, but smexxi

  • lmao @ 0:45 he's like piss off ugly..then hes like hahah jk im outta here

  • He really is amazing - this was a fun video! Thanx

  • When he says "HIT THE CEILING. " oh god.

  • Hot!

  • Nice!!!! :))))) Glad Frank 'n Furter Decided To Turn Up LoL Xxx Love It!

  • 1:34..... frank is everywhere (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) xDDDDDDDD i just can't get over dr. frank i am a desperate fan girl for him..... but shit... i got born a little late (i'm 19) : PPPPP

  • @chrisoulicius lmao dont worry im 13 xD

  • @hannahbananerz13 xDDDD hehe....

  • Tim looks strange to me without any makeup on.

  • reminds me of the stones, disco era.

  • This was NOT filmed at Paradise Garage in NYC.......

  • TIMMY!!!

  • @LadyStardustSoul I bought this years ago from somebody from ebay and don`t have the original anylonger very sad :-(

  • I love his hair<3

  • WHO IS THE SAX?

  • @toymagenta the person who is playing the sax is David Sanborn

  • Any way of getting the audio and video in sync on youtube??? This drives me nuts.

  • @hlmspl sorry that is how i recieved it on a dvd.and sometime when you download from a dvd to add it here things get out of sync.Sorry again

  • @hlmspl sorry that is how i recieved it on a dvd.and sometime when you download from a dvd to add it here things get out of sync.Sorry again

  • Not a bad Rapper either Skills are skills ...and thats 4real

  • One of the rock gods. Amazing how many people have no idea that he was a singer before he was an actor. I think he segued quite nicely.

  • hes also hott at 1:45 :)

  • 1:33 he saw his hot self walk by in his rocky horror costume! lol, so cute...i bet frank n furter was walkin by thinkin " bitches got no taste"

  • damn he looks soo HOTT!

  • What year?

  • @manfromthe80s I think 1979 or 1980

  • Michael Jackson totally stole this bass line!

  • Like if Rocky Horror Picture Show brought you here!

  • Such a beautiful man -3

  • Comment removed

  • Oh that voice... MMMMMMM

  • Love the bass beat in this, love his style!!

  • his voice is better as Frank-n-Furter

  • He's so fucking young and sexy in this video...

  • Love it! Was bummin' in Dillon, Colorado, rentin' some lady's basement and skiing my ass off! We had MTV on a little TV...and this was just SOOOO cool!!! (Was skiing non stop for four straight years a bad thing? Nah!)

  • Tim Curry is one talented man.

  • They actually put this video on the Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD. Talk about a lost treasure!

  • @tsheffie101659 Are you serious...It's not on mine:(

  • Where the hell did you get this?!?!?!? This is like the rarest video I've seen. This was featured regularly back in 1979 on a local Tampa Bay UHF channel every weekend - next to The Police's "Message In A Bottle" and Supertramp's "Goodbye Stranger". And I think I saw this once or twice on USA's Night Flight. Excellent post. Thanks a million!

  • When I look at him all I see is Frank N Furter without makeup on. Well in these videos of his young years. So goregous <3

  • Nice Beat,and song :) I love the Part 2:54 - 3:19

  • It's horror show! Awesome!!!

  • i love how when he is saying "and it goes like this." he doesnt actually complete the word aaaaahhhhhhhh the british you got to love them he is british right?

  • this is my favorite song that tim curry did besides sloe gin

  • i dont care what anyone says but with that curly black hair a P-Coat and his smile he is th fucking sexiest thing alive

  • And I thought I was the only one to own this album (cassette)... Truly a great effort

    A GREAT voice.

And even better than usic..Tim is a truly great Thespian/actor

  • more cowbell!

  • O.o

  • God, i love Tim Currys voice. He has such a STRONG voice when he sings. Plus ... he is Hot! Double your pleasure :)

  • I'm not sorry that it was Meatloaf who had the future as a rockstar, but I feel so bad that things just never took off with Tim. I really do enjoy his music.

  • Oh just read down further it is Dori!

  • Anyone know if that was Dori Hartley (sp?) as Frankie in this video?

  • fearless should be considered one of the best albums of the year. many sides of tim's blues and a voice to match

  • He's so sexy when he closes his eyes and smiles.

  • I LOVE THIS. Such an unusual looking man, with a fantastic singing voice. Seriously, sexiest voice in the world...deep, husky, varied, smooth...*melts*

  • WOW, I remeber watching this film right before watching Rocky Horror... Great times Hey that's David Sanborne playing the Sax...

  • WOW, I remeber watching this film right before watching Rocky Horror... Great times

  • Is that Sanborn on sax? Did he play on every album in the 70's?

  • awesome bass line

  • Tim Curry<3

  • was this before or after rocky horror

  • @weathered79 after

  • 1:34 DORI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe this was playing on tv before MTV.. on a program called Night Flight... played early videos like this etc.. I remember this song as a kid, (and goes like this) stuck in my head.. Thanks for the memories.....

  • LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • People don't take this very seriously........but this was a really strong album. One of the reasons I moved to Manhattan, saw Tim at The Tampa theater when I was in Junior high, he was a great rock frontman, much more than people know.....

  • @metropic1 I agree with you.He is more then ppl know

    thanks

  • @metropic1 Yea, there's a good group of us that have GREAT memories of Tim and his music. The same way few years from now this NEW grp will say the same about themselves! LOL!

  • @metropic1 He has so much raw performance energy, it's so refreshing!

  • @metropic1

I love this sound. And I think he was brilliant, I always wonder why he didn't really made it as a rocker, better than an actor. Not that I don't like his movies.

  • @metropic1 I do! He is paying homage to Larry Levin and that whole scene. I wish I couldve been there--too young!

  • Brilliant! :)

  • I remember watching this on MTV! It wasn't that long after MTV started being shown. I also saw Rocky when it first came out and BEFORE anyone was participating with it. Fun times.

  • Used to perform franknfurter every weekend! And yes saw I do the rock before the show. Tla on south st with Adam Sargis who used to run the place.

  • Shit, it's disco. But fuck, it's tasty curry time.

  • I remember this playing at the midnight movie, just before Rocky Horror would start, at the university mall in Tampa, Florida..in 80, or 81..damn, what happened to my youth?

  • @NoDreadHere - You asked "what happened to my youth?" but didn't you really mean, "Whatever Happened to Saturday Night?" ;)

Seriously, though--that song means more to me now than in my teenage Rocky days. Back then, I was at Rocky on Saturday night. Now, I'm at home grading papers and wondering exactly what that--whatever ever happened to Saturday night?

But this song still takes me back! That's some tasty Curry disco right there!

  • Had his 2 albums 30 years ago. Crap, and I gave them away!!

  • They don't make music like this anymore. I think I want to marry him too.

  • does anyone else notice that at 1:34 theres some sort of frank n furter look alike!

  • Yes that is Dori Hartley

  • @shawnie01 Dori Hartley, the first one (and the best to date) to put together a Frank costume and perform as Frank, first at the Waverley Theater and then at the 8th Street Playhouse.

  • Dori Hartley. She was the very first person to dress as Frank at the 8th Street Playhouse in NYC. She is is considered by many to be the "Godmother Of Rocky Horror Audience Participation".

  • @whalepieisyum Its Dori Hartley

  • @whalepieisyum definitely intentional:) lol

  • @whalepieisyum The Frank that walks by is Dori Hartley who played Frank in the 8th St Playhouse floorshow back in the 70's. She's wearing the actual leather jacket Tim wore in the film.

  • at 2:42 you can definitley tell that's pennywise!

  • He's good!

  • I swear one day we'll all marry him, he'll have like a million wifes and like 200 husbands even though he isn't gay even men can't stop thinking he is sexy!

He is amazing, I love him a lot.

  • Tim is by far, the sexiest man in the whole world!

  • @computerorphone he is TOO sexy i cant help it!

  • @computerorphone Definitely a lot of androgyny with this one. He's a sweety! Ever see the movie he did in 1986 as the Grand Wizard? The Worst Witch it was called. Very rare but he made the movie, I think lol.

  • @computerorphone That is soo true!!

  • @computerorphone I can't believe how true that seems

  • @computerorphone

    I think he is homosexual.

  • @computerorphone Tim NOT gay..Really????? Don't tell author Armistead Maupin who's been a friend of Tim for years and outed Tim a while back

  • @computerorphone Is he really not gay?I never thought he was,but I'm just not sure now.I once heard he was never interested in having any children. But I never even knew of him having a girlfriend.I wonder why.Beautiful man.Id love to wake up next to that.Even now.

  • @kaylawayla23 I don't think he's gay... He just doesn't have a partner and have barely been known to have one, which is strange for a man with such good looks! Apparently, recently he was dating a young Russian model... Have a look online... I'm such a stalker!

  • @computerorphone I'm a stalker too!...I love his music.I hate I don't have this album.I heard it's quite hard to get a hold of.Do you know her name?The model?I really sound like a stalker now.

  • @computerorphone The only way you'll marry him is if you have a penis.

  • @Bogframe Trust me... I'll get one

  • @computerorphone I'll be one of those wifes <3

  • i swear i will marry him one day... <3

  • There is a Bicycle shop in Columbus, OH named Paradise Garage!!!!!!!!

  • Tim is so great in this! A hell of a singer! I used to watch this, and "I Do The Rock" just before "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" on fridays and saturdays at the midnite show at the varsity theater in University City (just outside of St. Louis) Missouri! Funnnnn times!

  • we even had call backs and dance moves to this like 'the thumb' at 2:13 and 'camera switching' at 3:14

  • "and PARADISE IS A GARAGE!!!"

anybody else get to see this and 'I Do the Rock' right before Rocky Horror on a weekly basis at the theater?

  • He makes me hot *goes off to take a cold shower*

  • I wanna hair style like Tim's...

  • whats odd is recently my hair has become rather uncontrollably poofy like tims in this video, was funny one morn when i woke up and brushed it double and it went out to tim level lol fun

  • you had a "Tim" hair day then? LOL!

  • this video used to be played on Video Concert Hall, an old cable tv show from '78-'81 that showed music videos (Pre MTV). Some of the videos I remember from that series were Iggy Pop (I'm Bored), Styx (Borrowed TIme), Gary Numan (Cars)... the intro music to the show was Carouselambra by Led Zepplein....

I'm 40, so I was only 9 when it first came on, but I remember it like it was yesterday.....

does anyone else remeber this show?

  • love him

  • Hey, Paul Stanley without the make-up ... :)
