  • Hell yeah! Now this is REAL music!

  • take note on new country like kenny chesney and jason aldean, montgomery gentry.....they are taking the rock and using it in country.....and it is awesome.....because it is the only fresh rock sound you get on the radio.......

  • i love eddie money, but i sure wish he would go back and have two guitarists and get the tone and volume he had like in this video......true rock fans don't get this type of tone, melodies, volume any more.....the time is sooo ripe to get it out there loud with rhythm.....this video is soo awesome really brings out the tone and volume.....gotta crank this......we just don't see this anymore.....sad really........

  • this was actually a fucking AWESOME live performance, i hit like, i loved it!

  • what band is john nelson from??? like is he just a special guest here?

  • saw him live back in the summer, it was an outdoor venue and it came a thunderstorm and the band kept playing until stuff started shorting out. the support that he promoted for the military combined with the rest of his show was awe inspiring.

  • Just saw him in concert last night and he and the bank just simply ruled!

  • He was drinkin ohohohooo

    Drinking all night ohohohhhhh

He was drunk, drinkin all; night

  • @ 1:53 it looks like DENNIS LEARY is playing that les paul.

  • john nelson had it all though...

great tone you can like tell that beat up old strat is jus like stuffed with foil.

    All that midrange!!!!

    John Nelson = great player

  • Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Dennis Leary on Rhythm Guitar!

  • @MrMatthiasSchneider

And Huey Lewis on the other. LOL!!!

  • Hey, Its his show, he can do whatever he wants...

  • He's wasted.

  • i fucking love eddie money and his band

  • I like the drag-racing video of this song. It reminds me of my younger brother when he owned hot-rod cars and raced them on the streets for titles. He owned a Ford Mustang 2+2, a custom Dodge Colt with a small block V-8, speckled-paint under the hood, super nice interior, custom racing wheels and tires, in other words, the works! Guys came running to just check the oil of the little Dodge Colt. He wiped it out drag-racing in Portland (Louisville) Kentucky. God, I miss my brother...

  • Not a bad song, but I used to make fun of this song by singing, "She was shittin'. Sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-shittin'!". Lulz.

  • @musicphan1 hahahahahahahahahahahahaha loololololololololololololoolololoololollolololo

  • I saw them in 1978 at CalJam I think and they rocked the stadium even better than AC/DC, Cheap Trick, and Aerosmith

  • John Nelson's vibrato is Clapton level.

  • @DrRosewater Lol, i think Angus had a better vibrato than anyone, not that Clapton's is bad. But to be honest, Angus vibrato is next to none.

  • Yep...that's John Nelson (great vibrato that guy!). It is Chris Solberg on bass. Kevin Gilbert on keys as well.

  • eddie jams

  • Johnny Nelson is absolutely killin' it on lead guitar. If I could play lead guitar, I would want it to sound like that.

  • Eddie was trashed....... LOL

  • I agree more rock he can play

  • john on lead really made this line up during this period..eddies bands since have been 3rd rate..

  • they still look great

  • why don't you stop this from frezzing a t 1: 44

  • SHE WAS ..... SHAKIN !!!

  • nelson has that great strat into a wound up marshall tone, the other gtr player looks like Dennis Leary (Tommy Gavin)

  • I used to chase so much snapper to this it's unreal

  • you take some lonely night with nowhere to go

think again, there's one hell of a show

90 miles away you're walkin on water

hold on to tickets to paradise

    you beg steal and borrow

on stage a guy with more charisma than tomorrow

Eddie's got both style and substance

to the nth degree of overabundance

  • never born like J. nelson-how much skills

  • Eddie's coked up in this video, ya?

  • John Nelson Is Killin' On Guitar!

  • saw eddie money last night in vegas 3 20 10 he rocks great show

  • i thiInk Vanhalen should call eddie money 2 b their 2010 opening act!....THAT WOULD B COOL!!!!

  • Kickin fass, He kind of looks like DLR.LOL

  • eddie money kicks ass still 2 this day!

  • man a old school classic....that were the days

  • I bet I was part of the biggest crowd Eddie Money ever played to - the Us Festival in SoCal, Sept 1982. Had to be 100,000 on hand that day. He took the stage earlier afternoon - must have been 102 degrees and no shade. There were water cannons on each side of the stage and when we sang The chorus of Gimme Some Water, the cannons blasted the grateful crowd. Very cool!

  • man those to solos are amazing, it pumps me up everytime i hear them

what happened to music like this?? oh yea crap rap came...fuckers.lol

  • @GreatCODEMAN22 should listen to more metal....shit is great and I have as much fun playing Metal as i do the classics such as Mr. Money

  • 1985

  • I totally agree with you.

    Today's music suck's!!!!!!

  • @LAURAUSA100 today's shit does fuckin' suck!

  • Please what year is this show? THANKS

  • kevin gilbert on keys!!!

  • It makes me so sad to see him. Everytime I see footage of him doing something I think that his manager was coming to tell him Genesis wanted to audition him to replace Phil Collins when he found Kevin dead.

  • Her tits were shaking all through the night

  • sexy eyes this man does have

  • ed did this a littler better when i saw him, looks like he went a little far that night

  • What is eddie really saying on the line that sounds like "we did some shakin' til the middle of the night?" I heard sound bite of him talking to the guy on my favorite radio station saying that it was true that he was really say... and I kinda missed it.

Eddie also drives a Pontiac Solstice because it's American made! Patriot or what

  • That's the line, exactly.

  • amazing amazing live performance

  • 100% agree

  • Awesome Vid. Thanks. Saw EM 4 years ago live and he tore the place up. Great gig!

  • OMG!! I recorded this show when it was on (88?), only my tape cut out a little farther then this does. Been looking for a replacement. I thought I could use the end of this one, but looks like I can't. I saw it on ebay years a go from Japan. It went for almost $100. My tape is almost worn out. Wish I could find a replacement. Poster won't answer messages.

    Chris.

  • @happydog500 If i'm not mistaken, an earlier post stated this was filmed in Northern California somewhere. This info needs to be verified, though.

  • OMG!!

  • Wow Eddie was messed up on this night lol funny how he got addicted to drugs after being a cop for several years fighting drugs on the street. Oh well I guess stranger things have happened.

  • Eddie Money = awesome

  • Eddie money you are the fucking man!!!!!

  • eddie (mahony) money

  • John Nelson is a fuckin great guitarist!

  • John Nelson (The guy with the strat) owns a vintage guitar shop in hollywood and he sold me a 2005 Gibson Les Paul. I recommend everyone go see his store. He is right next to the sunset strip guitar center.

  • I love his tone and playing style. Is that a custom strat he's playing in this song? It looks like just an active single coil bridge pickup.

  • You sir are the one everyone that posted on this board should be saying "fuck him" too.

  • I'll be seeing him July 27th, its gonna be epic

  • Love the Bridge in the chord progression! Pure sexual energy! :)

  • obviously pro-shot and i've seen the money man...he was a crowd pleaser and still is....but where is the end of this song ? the video ends as he is about to cut loose with the final verses...other than that thanks for a vivid memorie of mine and this video is most properly enjoyed at the highest decibel setting you can stand, just as god himself intended....if you can feel the music hitting your skin...then you have the proper adjustment (wink)

  • great song!

it´s also in a king of queens episode...

    xD xD

  • i miss my love

  • Nice performance can tell a big difference between this one and more of his recent performances

  • There's a special way of rocking out to Eddie Money, timeless.

  • John Nelson, I remember him playing for

John Lee Hooker. Yea, Nelson has got great tone, feel, and vibrato. Is his still into selling vintage guitars in LA?

  • Love the lead solo in this yarn.. Sooo tasty and melodic. I love covering this song. However, I have to give ALL the credit to Jimmy Lyon

  • I'd really appreciate the tabs for this song, can't find 'em anywhere and I'm not good enough to figure it out by ear

  • Just keep playin lad... I grew up playin by ear and I think it is probably better because you learn to play with more "feeling"...This solo is totally a "feel" type of solo...I don't have any tabs for you. I apolgize.

  • Verses:

    A A A B

    Chorus:

    A A A B B B G G G

  • John Nelson rules on guitar! Killer tone, vibrato, all that. Are those plexis behind him? Metal panels? I wonder what he used to boost them. Looks like a modded 50's Strat he's playing. Maybe I'll go ask him.

  • Was arrested By Eddie Money Then he sang Take me Home tonight in Latin

  • this song omg is so good I just saw Eddie and his daughte Jessie in new Hampshire very good and he's very nice I met him

  • Did you know he was a ex-NYC COP That,s What I Heard?

  • yeah its true, no for very long though dont know the exact amount of time but he was a new york city cop

  • Thanx great song.Grew up with this and you started in the beginning. not like the rest.

  • amazing song!

  • John Nelson's a killer on the guitar. Used to see him playing at the Longbranch in Berkeley, Ca back in 1972....Is that Chris Solberg on bass?

  • I think the bass player was Tim Sheridan. In my opinion, the only good guitar players Eddie ever had in his band were Jimmy Lyon and John Nelson, the present day show is a joke.

  • actually, i just got back from an eddy money concert and his guitar men really rocked.they were awesome.

  • @parkboy55 Jimmy Lyon has some of the best guitar solos in the history of rock.

  • @opd7175opd love the way he brings the lead player out front, so awsome!

  • @opd7175opd wasn't he a cop in the Bronx b4 he was a singer ?

  • This Kicks Major Tail! GO! Mahoney!

  • Hello Eddie you are the singer ??? LOL Freaking sing ! I am glad I didnt pay for this crap !

  • this song rocks......

  • in the video he seems like he's really at the end of his power, he could barely hold the legs.

    but it's an amazing song!

  • I met Eddie in New hampshire he's a very nice man he autographed some cd for me

  • Jakester566, you said you had this on VHS. Is it a bootleg or can you buy it online from Amazaon? It seems like a great concert.

  • I think I got this VHS tape from a defunct video store. If i'm not mistaken, I think this was from MTV saturday night concerts just before Headbangers Ball took over that time slot,1987 I think.

  • @StangQuest94 Someone recently said it had been seen on on E-bay. I have a broken VHS copy that i got years ago from a defunct video store. I thought it was originally on MTV's Saturday night concert series around 1986-87, but this is info is open for correction

  • It makes me sad that the video cuts off. I really like this song: in fact, I prefer this live version to the studio recording--and that's saying something, because that's pretty rare for me!

  • No doubt! This is an excellent recording. Perfect sound and it looks like one bad ass concert. Thanks for sharing. Eddie Money rules!

  • this was my labor song for my little sarah .. 2005 .. love you eddie

  • OMG! Money and the audience were so high. I wish I was there! Sweet concert!

  • this song freekin rocks

  • Drunk as hell. He sounds terrible and missed almost every verse.

  • good song

  • Parkboy, was this in 1987? I have this on VHS,but I thought this was 1986.Oh well,I do know this was filmed in San Jose, possibly at UC San Jose.Thanx for posting

  • I don't know exact date. The concert was taped at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA outside S.F.

  • Yeah, I wish I could find a VHS copy of this concert somewhere. I keep looking on ebay but nothing yet. My friend got to hang out with Mahoney on his bus at the NY state fair last year because he works for Eddie's good pal Benny Mardones.

  • Thank you...Ok you win Tommy Girven comes in 2nd
