My mom retired and had medicaid and it covered EVERYTHING in her last few years on this earth -- all her hospitalizations, cancer treatments, hospice care, etc. She didn't have to come up with a dime. I personally don't know how that question on a 'public option' was worded, but with 56% against, and 46% strongly against (Rassmussen) the health care bill in it's current form, they certainly don't want the public option(s) discussed by our House or Senate.

So don't act like somehow Americans want this.

did you read my post? 56% applies to those who do not support the health care bill in congress. Current polls all indicate a 56-61% level of non-support.

What that implies is that that 53% number somehow put on the public option favorability needs to be supported somehow by several polls or thrown out.

It's also possible that 53% of people support some sort of public option, just not what's being proposed. I don't have much faith in whatever poll produced those numbers.

I did some more research and found a few polls that do say that Americans do support some sort of public option, but what kind of public option? That's the unanswered question.

They also report a curious stat that %53 support a public option of some sort, while 46% oppose. They lament however that only 22% of American families believe they would be better off under health care reform.

Rassmussen Reports today, 56% to 40% against the Health Care Plan with a whopping 46% Strongly opposing.
