You know a way to do this that's 1000 times easier? Take a water bottle you just finished drinking, and twist it up. Then, take the top of fast, and be careful, it will shoot off. Cloud in a bottle.

you know a better way??? twist a water bottle that you just drank very tightly with a lot of PSI and slowly open the cap with the edge of your finger. the cap pops off and makes the same smoke :)

You can do this a lot more simpler by putting a bit of water in a juice bottle, putting some smoke in there (you don't need an airtight seal like he had - hot glue?!) Then just give it a shake. You won't see anything, because the pressure is not right.  Squeeze the bottle as hard as you can, you still wont see anything (high pressure), let go, and the cloud will appear (low pressure!). Its much better than this demo, and doesn't use bike pumps or hot glue! Simple.

You can do this same experiment with just an empty water bottle( with a cap), and your hands.

1. Make sure the bottle is full of air and has some water droplets inside it.

2. Grab the middle of the bottle and twist it, compressing the air inside it.

3. Quickly twist off the cap and squeeze out the steam.

You can make the cloud from your mouth as same way this video shows. Try to build air pressure in your mouth.Use your hand to stop air leaking from you lips area. When your cheeks feel little pain open your mouth slowly. Smoke will come out from your mouth. Seriously try it. I used to do that when I was a kid.

This method for the cloud in a bottle is obsolete. Soon after we did this video for expert village we swapped over to the version that we found on Stephen Spanglers website. Eliminate the match! Do not use the match! The reason you are not using the match is that you now add 5 ml of isopropyl alcohol and pump it up. Release the pressure as before and the cloud is sooooo much thicker. The condensation of the alcohol causes a larger temperature drop thus a better cloud.

Not long after we made the video, one of my teachers forwarded me a cloud in a bottle demo from Stephen Spangler.

The isopropyl alcohol method he uses (without the match) works soooooo much better. The match method I show here is now obsolete. :)

you can allso do this with a normal garden hose and a bottle that fits tight over the hose. turn on the water and you will get both a rocket and the cloud. if you empty the garden hose completly of water before fitting the bottle it wil compress more air and go further\higher
