thanks for the tut. i tryed it once (cube is wat moves in my game) and it wouldnt work. But i looked at it and found i had made a stupid mistake. forgot to set my object as dynamic.
Also i subscribed. i was having this same problem using simple motion
so lets say in my game, im driving on a very small planet. How do i make that sphere "planet" be the source of gravity, so when i drive over the sphere, i don't fall off into the y axis?
Track your moving object (mine is a camera) to the sphere or "planet". Turn off all your gravity. Then add an "always" "servo control" of like 1 or .7 on the y axis. I tried it and it worked. Ill make a tutorial if you dont understand. Hope i could help. Good luck with your game dude!! :)
sorry, im a bit of a noob to blender. how do i track the camera to the sphere? do i make it into a parent? And do i turn off the gravity by not selecting dynamics for the camera?
Next to panels in your buttons menu (the botton tab under the 3d veiw) in shading (F5) goto to your world buttons (the earth looking one). You should see a tab that has two buttons, "mist" and "stars". above stars you should see a slide thing that says "Grav". Thats the gravity...turn that to zero.
To track under the same tab, (select your camera) next to panels you should see a pacman looking button (logic F4). go their and add something under each of the three bricks. make the 1st "always". Make the second "and". Make the 3rd one an "edit object". under the final brick change "add object" to "track to" . then specify the object you want it to track to (mine was Sphere, but click on your object and look at the name..it must be exact...ex. "Plane.001". That should do it.
Hey I'm using blender 2.62 and the collisions work great but the character slides.. is there any way to fix it?

or go to 'world buttons' and move 'sub' up to 4 or 5, worked for me, all it is is the physics not keeping up.

this is a little to much all you have to do is turn up the physics substeps its that simple turning it up makes it impossible to go through anything

For some reason my character is sliding forward even after I have let go of my forward key. Any suggestions?

@goshfather
under the dynamics button in logic (f4),
you should see two sliding bars, "damp", and "rotdamp".
turn those up until you get the desired result, start off with values ".99" for both.
