Once upon a time people had class. Once upon a time people actually danced. Once upon a time people didn't simulate sex and call it dancing. Thanks for posting that once upon a time.
@Tomorrow1991TZW This is the first R 'n' R record I ever heard. My mum had it on original 78rpm shellac. Took a few years, but hunted down a lovely copy on 78 again two years back. This son still sounds fresh
Look how many guys that could dance back then...I love this song, but all the Friday night dances I went to, onkly ther girls would dance, the guuys only slowed dance. I guess it's a Philly thing, wish I knew those guys.......Check out the bow in the girl's hair with attached ribbons with jingle bells on the end of the ribbons, that's an Am. Bandstand thing it must of been a show in December, as we did vthe same in Boston..
@gottigirl161 I learned to dance because my big sis made me her practice partner. My buddies never really learned. It gave me a huge advantage with the girls later. :D
Check out the Ific buttons...great to hear the actual live (sort of at least...tinny, and with all the handclapping audio)...if this was on "Where The Action Is," it couldn't have been 1957, actually...the show didn't exist, to the best of my knowledge, until the mid-'60s...but still a great clip and post...thanks
@thecountofbasie The IFIC buttons referred to Beechnut gum which was flavor-ific. Beechnut sponsored the Dick Clark Show from 1958 through 1960. Then came American bandstand and later Where The Action Is. I would guess 1957 refers to the original release date of the song. The show had to be in 1958 when those buttons were introduced.

I wish these kids would clap on the right beat (even with the drums).
