@Butternut731863 I love Don Troiani, one of my favorites, because Kunstler sucks. But it is a reenactorism. I apologize for the hardcore reenactor in me.

I love this video. Thank you for making it! I had a Great great great grandfather who fought at Fredricksburg for the Union, his name was Jacob Kinsel.

Nice slide show and what u said it hits the spot. My ancestor was in he 42nd Virginia and I read that he was shot on the head in the battle of Chancellorsville and went up, still fighting. Also fought in Gettysburg at Culp's Hill. I guess my family is known for their hard heads

Hey dude, that's great!!! But, a bit of advice. Try to buy the stuff instead of making it. But start out with the jacket, pants, suspenders, shirt,and hat first and ask your commanding officer if they have extra gear you can borrow. If you're going to fight, save the musket for last. It's the most expensive. First, before you do anything look and ask what is on the list of equipment. One more thing. I suggest getting gear from "Crescent City Sutler". It's really inexpensive and good quality.

Also, I suggest that you buy a weapon that could be used in any reenactment. For example, my first one was an 1863 Springfield, which I can only use in reenacting battles dating from 1864 and on. An 1853 Enfield would leave your options open. (And, if you're into target shooting, is about on par with the 1861/63 models.) With all gear in general, think "generalize."
