Those bears in any Infinity Ward game are a reference to Call of duty two, in which, there was an easter egg on a mission where you save a family. The egg involved carrying one of those bears from mission start to mission end. it has been referenced in every infinity ward COD game since.

But lets look at the facts, it is a sad event when someone dies, particularly a child, but the last thing they were holding is a bear? That's TOO hollywood. Also, they wouldn't put a tribute a dying / dead child in a game where the object of the game. It's counter intuitive.

@RussianDoCH actually thats a completely different bear design. If you look at the IW near, its near mint condition, but the Treyarch bear is bloodstained, patchy, and an eye is falling out i think. Not to mention, im pretty sure the bear is referenced in some of the radio signals from world at war, they just happened to both feature bears.

Do you want to know the story of the teddy bear? Its been there from the very beginning from before the MWs, WAW, and Black Ops. Yes, i harken back to the times of Call of duty and Call of duty Finest hour. One of the first call of duty games COD and COD FH were pretty bad ass and as a little joke Activision decided, as a little joke easter egg to put a few bears in the game. Thats all they really are, easter eggs. They represent child innocence in times of war, not some ghost child.
