The first lady had a history of depression. Was she stupid when it clearly states in the box to avoid if so? p.s. i'm about to start a course after 24yrs smoking.I will update regularly on here how it goes.
Im takin it right now...these people are retarded. It says right in the box, "if you feel suicidal or have increased symptoms of depression STOP taking the pill and talk to your doctor" these people are just idiots
Using Champix iv'e quit nicottene twice. For 26 years l have otherwise been taking some form of nicottene. The first time l took Champix l did experience some angry outbursts in the first week. Was this Champix messing with my brain? Maybe not, maybe it was just feelings you might experience from going cold turkey with smoking. l was also under pressure in a work site at the time. However you stop smoking there will always be some psychological changes when you let go of a drug habbit.
what a load of scaremongering rubbish. Look at official statistics rather than listening to individual cases. These are very sad examples but an entire medicine should not be written off based on them.
This stuff works. I smoked around 20-30 a day for ten years. It's been 4 weeks since I quit and I'm doing pretty well. However, the side effects seemed to build on me and sent me half mental. I've stopped taking them today and I still don't want a cig, so we'll see how it goes.
I'd recommend them, but stop if you start to feel psychotic!
isn't a few days feeling depressed better than a life time of smoking?? many friends have beaten the cig's with champix without weird side effects, i think if you get depressed you will feel bad while quitting, just go through it and come out smelling of roses.... not smoke!
Well all these comments seem very positive and that is awesome! but my mum was taking champix and fell into a very deep suicidal depression, she has never been like that in her life and she was fine about a week or two after she stopped taking them.
this is bullshit, its not champix, it comes down to the individual, this is a beat up for BBC, go suck eggs i take champix, no side effects, most definately not suicidal, i felt worse when i was on the anti -depressants, so stick it up ur arse hole BBC
Just to add to my comment below. Karen has a history of depression. Her doctor should have not prescribed Champix to her. Champix is an antidepressant - hence the fact that I didnt use it to quit.
Also, the instruction in the pack warns about having suicidal thought and suicide attempts and to stop taking the drug immediately if you experience this.
If these people can't follow basic instructions, it's their fault, not Pfizers.
Smoking wins hands down, where's the Investigation on the Tobacco companies, where are the interviews with families who have lost loved ones to Lung Cancer and other Smoking related diseases.
Remember when you smoke you are not only addicted to nicotine, there are 1000's more chemicals withdrawals that they are having.. champix does works very well at blocking nicotine receptors better than anything that exists.. now the rest of the chemicals.. and the tar!!!! withdrawals can be quite painful.. so it's either a slow death from cigarettes or be strong and quit now and live a much healthy life.
can´t understand a thing from what that married couple is saying...

I quit cold turkey. I would have taken champix if i could but I take anti-depressants.
Maybe there is issues of suicidal thoughts if you take ant-depressants and champix together.
