  • Great Song!

  • A beautiful tribute to Sister Thunder

  • this is beautiful--real, old school singing and the breakout on this is just funky. also, i'm sure you probably have it posted, but the one i love by her is "swing low, sweet chariot." other than her voice, which is awesome and magnificent, the little arrangement on that one is hot. i listen to that one regularly.

  • What a voice. She's always been one of my favorites. Great post Roweches.

  • all i can say is thank you, thank you, thank you and god bless you. you have a gift...

  • Thanks for this post

  • She certainly did her part to inspire God's people.

  • Another artist the kids need to learn about. If it was not for her, it would not be any Shirley, or Tye or even Kierra. Let's cherish our legends while they still are here, meaning Dorothy and Shirley and Tina.

  • @Gaylel1 Amen to the highest! She truly helped Pave The Way. Blessed are they that sing for they pray twice.

  • I can just hear Francis, Marion, Clara,

and Kitty rejoicing in being with the Lord

    together again. Thanks for posting.

  • You know I was just listening to her Music the other day & I was just in awe She was still around. Im saddend to hear of her passing but rejoicing for she resting. I'm sure she lived a BLESS, RICH life God Bless.

  • wow DEEP RICH LOW TONES incredible voice

  • God gave her to us And she used her voice untill she forgot how remember the songs. As Mother Ward would say Heaven wins again

  • Every Thanksgiving we will always have another thing to be thankful for...a wonderful Christian talent for praised the Lord with her unique gift.

  • This woman lived for past her three score and ten years of age (3x20+10)=70yrs. she was over 90 years old!!!!! This is a celebration of life and my prayers are for her family. We need to find something in our lives like Frances that give that life for us.

  • Thanks for posting. We have one ledgend in Chicago, Vernon Oliver Price who will celebrate her 80th Birthday with a musical Nov. 30 in Chi Life Center COGIC.

We must cherrish our pioneers while we have them here

  • I feel like a part of me just died with her! I will miss her dearly

  • Lord have mercy, I am so sad to hear this. Now she is singing again with Marion, Kitty and Henrietta and Clara. She is finally meeting the man who she dedicated her beautiful contralto vocals too.

  • God bless the memory of Frances Steadman, she had such a rich voice! I loved her way she presented in song,I don't think there will be another woman with a rich tenor/baritone as she had. She will be missed she lived a long life of 94yrs over what the God has promised man, what a blessing RIP!

  • R.I.P Frances! She was my absolute favorite Ward singer! She up there singing around the throne now..thank you Jesus!

  • OMG! MOTHER FRANCIS passed away?!? WOW! Rest in peace, FRANCIS STEADMAN-TURNER! We lost a pioneer in the Gospel Music Industry! She will be greatly missed; and never forgotten. WOW!

  • Amen and I know that's we aint got long to stay here. RIP Frances Steadman-Turner
