Good seminar on this kata. BUT from my black belt perspective, it could have been better. I am not doubting his skills and training what so ever. I respect it. Structural criticism here.

this is pinan shodan, just in shotokan that is heian nidan... just in shotokan, every others style is pinan shodan, this is the first kata to learn in every japanese style, except in shotokan

In Shotokan it's nidan, in wado it's shodan, based on the fact that otsuka snenseit thought it to be harder to do than the nidan

Wado Ryu's Pinan Shodan is basically the same as Shotokan's Heian Nidan; Likewise, Pinan Nidan is basically the same as Shotokan's Heian Shodan....

Just to make matters more confusing in Wado Ryu we study Nidan (2 degree) first then Shodan (1 degree) second..... ; )
