  • its 2012 and i still use a single 9800gt

  • this is my kind of guy

  • 80 gigs of storage space only? thats how much my 9 year old computer had.

  • @AznKizashi They're two SSD's in Raid 0, it's very fast, I assumed linus left our a hard drive so you could add your own, he DID say it was only a boot drive...

  • @Smt923 oh okay, thanks for the reply :)

  • nice screwdriver........

  • no fucking life & noob as hell...... (sorry my language)

  • @kjetilrudi95 ????????

  • @kjetilrudi95 what the fuck i bet you can understand half as much as a 3 year old girl could understand of this ?

  • @gastongurka well, I have maked a gaming pc and readed tns of manuels, how can I understand less then a 3 years old girl? intel lad, that's a propper good product, sorry for argumanting, didn't think nobody would argumenting this :P

  • @kjetilrudi95 well if your english is as good as your proof then just fuck of (i have build a gaming pc) would be the corect therm maked a gaming pc hahah sounds like you are good hahahah

  • @gastongurka I'm not from England if u think that -.- and yes, i'm lazy, so I don't argu with u in details..... well what have u maked then?????

  • @kjetilrudi95 well im not a wizzard so i havend maked anything but i have build a simple office pc for my mum and it had some simple shit just an old case and stuff my dad had in a box that he did not even use and he said i could take them to do it...

  • @kjetilrudi95 BTW im swedish your fucking moron

  • @gastongurka I give a shit, NORGE <3

  • Stop the video at 2:27... poker face à la Linus.

  • am wondering why some rude people watch one of most useful and informative channels of youtube, really why

  • @udgielad he did on a super extreme water cooling system he had 3 episodes

  • you can install the asus crosshair formula and quad channel ram?

  • Linus, Make a video of how to install a water cooling system step by step.

  • ive been doing it wrong... all these years..

  • I would use an extra HDD for storage

  • you are so AWESOME GUY!!!

  • What to do if you forget your password on windows xp?

  • That's a good idea, putting SSDs that have a limited amount of read/write cycles in RAID 0...

  • fuck we've come along way

  • i wouldn't trust a moron who doesn't know you can use more than one power supply and doesnt know you need the cd from your motherboard in order for it to work properly so you can update it.

  • @MegaDeathwarrant I wouldn't go around throwing accusations and calling people meaningless names from a faceless online account. Also - I am certain that Linus would understand that there is a reason Motherboards are still shipped with disks in the box, but is simply placing much more emphasis on getting the most up to date drivers to increase stability and compatibility.

  • Price ?

  • Wht the point of back plate and wht would happen if i didnt install it on my pc

  • @ninjadude991 Umm the point of the back plate is so you have something to attach your cooler bracket/hardware. You CANT install the cooler without the back plate.

  • wow i was watching about the new john deere tractors and it lead me to this... im so glad im a contry boy couldent deal with geeks like tht

  • @HarveyTheHunter You suck donkey dick

  • @HarveyTheHunter you suck horse donkey pig and cow dick

  • @MrZiimong and r point is... if u think u got a good come back what are they proper names?

  • @HarveyTheHunter my point is that you should not insult other people :)

  • @MrZiimong what tht i like being a contry lad and not being a townie.

  • Alright my friend, he's 22 (I'm 15, yeah, don't ask.) He basically told me what to get, so I went and bought a gfx card, processor, power supply and fan for the processor. Because I got the fan, i need to take out the Mother Board. He said get some foam stuff for like tool cases(you know, in the red drawers for like car tools) and put the mother board on there. Is that really necessary, since you put it on a cardboard box?

  • @RealZSurvivalist put it on something that doesnt conduct static electricity

  • Feel like watching a C*rsair advertisement.. So many C*rsairs

  • He looks so gay with that hat

  • i lol at this cause i have the radeon 5970. it but fucks and rapes the 6970 and gtx 580's ass

  • @trashypickles but produces noticeable stuttering in some scenarios.

  • @trashypickles Not the ASUS Mars II. Also not everyone wants an overheating monster that drains more power than a fat dude at a buffet.

  • @gomez1323 HAHAHAHA

  • Comment removed

  • i am at this sutff for years if it takes me 30 mins to in stall stuff besices the operating system then i give up =)

  • 80gb...... srly? that wouldnt hold all of my porn

  • @TrollSofter Yeah but it is SSD :)

  • @TrollSofter lol i need 1TB+ for that...

  • @TrollSofter

I think they have an other Harddrive, but they didnt show, and i think, they are using this 80 Gigs for Booting and Windows ;)

  • @TrollSofter lol thats SSD for ur OS not for ur porn lol get a 1 TB for that ;D

  • @BulletProofGeek lol i know, it was a joke... 1tb still isnt enough

  • @TrollSofter LMAO

  • @TrollSofter You download porn?

  • @LokiTime You don't? GAY :P

  • @ro3nfr33k LOL why download it when you can watch it on pornhub?

  • @TrollSofter Well... This was back in 2010. Explains the choices of parts...

  • 07:16 that's what she said.

  • where can i get a screwdriver like that one?

  • Linus is a boss.

  • that PSU is overkill for that setup. I'm running an FX-8120 & two 6950's on a 750W, and it never draws more than 600W under load.

  • @emomotorgeek linus ALWAYS overkills the PSU, in some of his videos he has 850W for a single GPU.

  • @emomotorgeek Always good to have some headroom...

  • Would this work with a Crosshair V Formula motherboard instead of a Crosshair IV Formula motherboard? (with everything else staying the same)

  • if my case doesn't have a cut out should i install my after market heat sink before i put the motherboard in the case or try and do it another way?

  • @danisasuperbeast nevermind haha

  • @danisasuperbeast if you find another way let us know. If your case dosnt have a mobo tray cutout then you need to get the backplate on the mobo and maybe even the cooler installed before you mount the mobo in the case.

  • @Tro1086 yeah my case doesn't have a cutout so im going to install the cpu cooler back plate thing first then put the cpu on then the top part of the heat sink fan then install it into the case, hopefully it works like that

  • WAHT THE FUCK??? 06:31 to 06:40

  • @MrBubiBoy good job rephrasing the top comment

  • i want that snap on screwdriver omg my buddy has one

  • i got same ram just not red!

  • How does a H70 work? So There is already liquid inside? No need for a separate pump or anything?

  • @YoshiHDify It has its own pump & resevoir.

  • @richie364 Sweet thanks! This will be an awesome water cooling kit for first time users like me.

  • What kind of screwdriver are you using? Its beast. Boobies to all! =D

  • @left4shamy its a ratchet screwdriver

  • i wonder what his personal pc looks like :S

  • lucky guy you have a hole in your case for the backplate of the cpu cooling

i have a antec 1200 case which hasn't got that (had to install coolermaster v8)

for the rest a good tutorial

  • his voice reminde me of capteinsparkelz xD

  • better than the bulldozer.

  • how much???

  • Someone is sponsored by Corsair :)

  • 14;10 stuck thinking !! haha

  • $1.1k PC if this was a 6 core intel 970 with an LGA 1366 mobo it would be almost $2k, See the difference?

  • Im sorry but this guy is energetic and all but i find him an asshole

  • @SippyCup007 how lol?

  • Can you see that ?

    No, no i cant

    Awesome !

  • can someone please tell me roughly how much would it cost to build a high end pc with this performance ? =O

  • @EVILICIOS Since it's a year old, I'd go for a newer setup instead of getting googly-eyed for this.

  • @mario11168 im not THAT much into pc gaming, more of a console gamer, so this would do just fine =)

  • Linus ! guess what? i watched the whole thing xD

  • Going to build a computer soon, do I need to apply thermal paste on CPU the first time it's installed?

  • @MecTecher yes

  • @14263 doesn't it come pre-applied or is it too little to do an effect?

  • @MecTecher You'll know itf its applied on the heatsink if on the bottom theres this greyish paste on the bottom of the heatsink on this circle.

  • Thank you Linus! :D

  • airflow box....

  • So you'd recommend actually connecting EVERYTHING before putting it into the case?

  • hey ,

    i have now a AMD phenom II x6 1090t ..

    i will probably buy a intel i7 2600k

do u think itll be better ?

  • @drummer96able Yes will be better but you wont notice it depending on what you are running.

  • @drummer96able stick with what you have for now

  • WOW, this is the guide on how NOT to handle sensitive components. Do not teach people to do this by themselves this way. Horrible!

  • @NCIXcom IS that Solid State Drive for Laptop ,, how can you use it for desktop

  • @AzimSobri your stupid, there the same f*****g thing

  • @greekpa2 what the hell you DUMBFUCK..Me only asking Linus something that i don't know .. AND now i know how to install solid state drive to desktop..

  • интересно посмотреть

  • How come anything AMD is imposable to find at my local stores. :(

  • I have this mb and it ROCKS!!!

  • Would it damage your motherboard if you forgot to put in the firewire cable?

  • @HowcanHe42 What do you mean? If you don't connect a firewire cable from the front panel, then you will just not have firewire at all. That's all it is to it.

  • @HowcanHe42 yes, your house will burn down if you dont connect the firewire front panel connector. That is what calls the fire department when your house is on fire, thats why its called firewire. You better not go to sleep till you get that hooked up.

  • Forget the pc, that guy got a cool cap!

  • "You see it? " "nope " "good!"

  • The build starts at 4:27, THUMBS UP.

  • u notice that those 6870's push air out the back and the h70 is pulling in air from the back and the 6870's are below the h70 therefor the h70 is sucking in hot air from the 6870's. i have h60 and gtx 570 sli. i use the top fan for intake and have my h60 pushing out so all hot air is going out back

  • 2 video cards, only 4gigs of ram. You can't explain that.

  • Only one word : Excellent. Thanks for this amazing building video man.

  • 06:31 to 06:40 wtf?

  • @awesomepers0n rofl fail

  • @awesomepers0n lol i know right, power supply installation lol haha linus probably had a long day lol

  • @the86driver i don't think linus edits the videos lol

  • Comment removed

  • @awesomepers0n forget it.. he install the RAM twice ! xD

  • I can't help but feel this video was made in the early 90s. Check out the wall in the background, and then the hat he's wearing, especially since he's wearing it backward. Cue "Saved by the Bell" opening theme.

  • 6:08 why did he bend that dominator air cooler to install it, mine has screws u loosten on the top, then tighten when its on

  • @SrtRacerBoy he was goin for a speed build.

  • i didnt think the 1100t was a very good gaming cpu

  • will amd 1100t be good with a gtx 480 and a gts450 (dedicated physx)

  • @ukIImyles Correct me if I'm wrong, but how many newer games still use physx?

  • @jawa1802 Bf3

  • @Cashmachinez Hahaha that's a new game, but doesn't use Physx.

  • @jawa1802 BF3, arkham city, arma 3, ghost recon etc..

  • Mine wouldn't boot :(

  • Same System, just the Cooler is different and the Case got the White Edition of this one with side Panels :) and i got the H100 by Corsair <3

  • I <3 the magnetic screw driver

  • @TwoPin do u actually need a magnectic screwdriver for a pc build?thanx

  • @Theairplaneguy4ever No, its not needed but it can be a help with smaller screws

  • "Last but not least.. not even close to last, actually.. FINALLY we'll need storage".

I can't be the only one who caught this.

  • Still can't find any video's that show which speeds of ram are the best.

  • @LLOYD19851012 more is better.but make sure ur cpus ram controller supports it.for eg intel sandy bridge cpus have ddr3 1333mhz controllers.so people buy 2133mhz and waste money.

  • how much did all of that cost?

  • what is that kind of screw driver called???

  • @crapmaster5000 wow your username is awesome.why didnt i think of that?

  • If I would live in Canada, I would so fucking buy from NCIX

  • Comment removed

  • wiring the power and stuff makes me paranoid

  • @legoman3342 lol dont worry about it. It is pretty straight forward. The connectors only fit certain sockets so there's literally no chance for you to mess up.

  • @calvinblinkee haha yeah, I posted this comment when I was assembling my new pc, I'm on it right now!!

  • Great Job Hard work

  • Thanks for this tut I have learn some thing I may miss step when I install a pc

  • thumbs up if u guys wanna see this custom desktop performance ! so this guy can show us !

  • should the power supply be the by the same manufacturer of the case?

  • @Turx96 no

  • @Turx96 Nope, you can use a corsair case with an antec psu for example.

  • @bountyhunter552 alright thanks. do you know if coolermaster psu's fit in nzxt cases? it should right? (sorry im new to this)

  • @Turx96 Yes, you're welcome to ask more question anytime ;)

  • @bountyhunter552 alright thanks

  • @Turx96

So long as the form factor of the PSU is the same as the case it should be all good, for ex, if you have an ATX case you should get an ATX PSU

  • lol so basicly every motherboard comes with a free test station XD

  • I have really enjoyed myself watching this video. Fantastic man, great explanation, TU!

  • black and white? which one is colored?

  • @quentinmayo it would be the white one, black is not a color is the absence of color

  • Guys.. I really need help.. An AMD 6 core Thuban black edition, or an intel 2600k sandy bridge quad core? I honestly don't know what is better, but the amd is 2 more cores and also less money..

  • @TheArcticWonder The 2600k has hyperthreading and is at a higher core clock and can be overclocked much higher than the X6.

Go with the 2600k if you can afford it.

Now, if you just want to game, then go with the 2500k. The 2600k isn't fully optimized as a gaming CPU, as it only gets about 2 FPS more than a 2500k.

  • @uzuhl2 intel processor have tice the threads as AMDs but you dont need it i have an AMD X6 Black edition and a Radeon 6970 and let me tell you Metro 2033 at MAX looks beautiful
