  • I honestly don't understand what you guys are talking about. He sings better now than 15 years ago, more in tune and with more expression. Just compare it with other performances of the same song back then.

  • great singer i have friend that sounds just like him

  • Chris Cornell loves mexicans

  • Chris is just simply....amazing....love love love his voice, and his love for God

  • his voice is still amazing, check out his 2010 performance with SG! e.g. Beyond The Wheel...fantastic!

  • ah. chris cornell.. most remarkable male voice, if you ask me.

find me a singer that comes close to his voice, and we'll talk! :D

  • @xxxblackvenomxxx Robert Plant , Steven Wilson, etc...

  • I wish I could sing as a 20 year old how Cornell could sing at the age he is now. Soundgarden is back!

  • damn good perf!

  • I left her in the sand just a burden in my hand he rips that

  • great healthy voice again. Very little straing singing those high notes. One of my all time fav voices!

  • No douche-bag wanna be rockers here. Just good music, just like it should be.

  • Fucking amazing...

  • loving the bass here

  • yeah ben shepherd was da man. What a bass track

  • It just doesn't matter what live Cornell video you watch on YT. all anyone wants to complain about is how his voice has weakened..... Please get over it. The guy can freakin sing get off his back allready..... And CC your right Matts done damm well !

  • He can't really help it, what really does it is just years of wear and tear on your vocal chords. It doesn't even have to do with drugs or alcohol, it's just the shouting.

  • Great song!!!!

  • And, you also have to remember that we all have the album version in our heads, which was pretty much an untouchably ridiculous vocal performance. There's a 1996 live version of this song on youtube. Comparing his voice ~12 years apart from live version to live version, it really hasn't changed that much. I don't think it's age; his songs are just really hard to pull off live bc he pushed the limits of his voice so much in writing and in the studio. (too bad he isn't as inspired these days)

  • You also have to remember that he's on tour and is singing for hours at a time just about everyday. Having to sing like that everyday will surely weaken your vocal chords.

  • he sounds like a guy in his 40's... but guess what, he IS a guy in his 40's, so you know, he's still a fantastic singer, and his voice is nowhere near being shot, it's just changed and gotten a little worn over the years, but that happens to everyone, not just singers, to be totally honest, it's amazing he can still do what he does today.

  • i couldnt agree more..he is one of the best singers in rock.

  • That was Superb lads

  • It's amazing! I only miss that old, good vocal at the beginning.

  • This is kind of cool. He sounds like he's strung out on drugs yet still in tune.

  • I agree completely with what this person just said.

  • Chris wrote this song and has written many more since. What have the other members of SG done lately?

  • matt's done perfectly fine...

  • I think they've been counting their money from the albums back in the 90's

  • cornell 84-2000 something, 2000-2008 totally something. It's just not the same. They better not touch each other's songs

  • AMAZING!!!

    live always beats studio imo

  • If you play hundreds of shows a year and you don't use samples your voice sounds like this.

By the way...I think it's still very good!

  • Agreed, I think he sounds great for someone who has been doing what he has been doing for this long.

  • @Earl0084 plus he hsn't stopped for almost thirty years

  • personaly i think it's the complete oppisite. the hole song is sang an octive higher witch points to the fact that his voice isn't shot. Robert Plant on the other hand...

  • exactly..o perry farrel..and much more

  • I wish he would sing it in the lower octave like he used to on the DOTU tour. His biggest vocal problem is I think getting down into the lowest register without singing flat as opposed to any loss of range. Sure he can't sing JCP perfect anymore but he can't sing the versus in 4th of July as a low as he used to either.
