Dayum that track's so phat and phunky, it should've been sampled!!!

Thanks and ree-spect from the Philippines.

  • I had or still have some of these comics. I never thought about the connection between the civil rights movement and the explosion we saw of female superheroes in the 1970's I have fond memories of many of them especially Storm, Christie Love and Ms. Marvel, nice job!

  • Dope! my kind of music! thanx for posting!

  • Fun stuff! Yes, the civil rights movement opened up possibilities for sexploitation by popular culture (and no complaints from this quarter!). Some rare finds that I really enjoyed seeing in your video, which was outstanding. Thanks for taking the time to create it and for sharing it with fellow fans! -- Gary P.

  • Great collection! Makes me want to put on some heels and stomp some men!

  • @jlambertstl interesting comment (ugh). the point of heroines is they r just like the male heroes fighting villains, not man-haters

  • @AtTheMidnightHour lol I didn't say that heroines are man-haters. I said that this music and image collection makes ME feel that way.

  • i know nothin about funk jazz and whatever

  • It sounds like the 70s were an exciting time to be a girl.

Immagine all the boys at school with their Batman lunch-boxes, and you show up at the table with a Wonder Woman lunch box and say "I'm going to sit here too. And if you don't like it, too bad." ;)

  • Poxa abriu sem querer... gostei do som... qm canta????

  • funky ass break at 0:14

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE BARDA!

  • Thanks for the vido again

  • She id Debra Winger , missed that too you see, fiirst time I saw Debra was eith JOnh Travolta in Urban Cowboy, a Movie of 1982 I think. Q: What year did this episodes aired, Debras features were different, she was a Teeenage or very young i presume

  • Two in 1976, a third in 1977. She was around 21.

  • Great video , and most of this girls are making a strong comebak, Ms Marvel, Spiderwoman, Tigra, The Dauthers of the Dragon, I never catched Wonder Girl on TV did that aired?

  • The "Wonder Girl" episodes did air; they launched the career of Debra Winger ("An Officer and A Gentleman").

  • I love it mmmmmmmmmmmmm yes i do !

  • Q: when did Isis play their last gigs in the classic line-up and did they perform tracks during this period that were either recorded for the third album or never released ?

  • I have always had a soft spot for Jack Kirby's women...I don't recognise the movie serials some of the live action stills are taken from. Of cause there's Lynda Carter looking fantastic! Love Red Sonya! Huntress - not always a good gal! Electra - dark as the name signifies. Daredevil's first love...

  • Great video, great song, great band. I discovered the music of Isis a year and a half ago. The samples were enough to tell that their debut album is a masterpiece; in an alternate universe it would've been reissued as a 35th anniversary edition. Love to hear full versions of Waiting For The Sunrise and Servant Saviour on these spaces,

  • play that funky music white girls...

  • lol

  • Witnessed the ISIS revolution in person at The Whisky in 74........scary....funky..... butch!

  • Hi,

The woman singing on this track is my mother Stella Bass. I remember watching them rehearse when i was a little girl but now the music saga lives on through me. I will be doing a remix of "Aint no Backin up Now" to be posted real soon. ISIS just lost the lead guitarist Carol McDonald R.I.P. Carol. I love you and your cookies... This group was before their time in music and had the male musicians sweating and hating on them. ROCK LIVES!!!!

  • Women, Power and video...watch out!

  • is it just me or was sex n women better in the 70's? or was i just hi? who knows........

  • may I be funknroll's best friend!!!!!!!!

  • I like that you had [Hell]cat & Tigra on here representing the WCA.

  • I just re-read my comment & I gotta say that was badly phrased. [Not that I give a hoot as to someone's sexuality].

GENYA is an amazing woman & a great artist deserving of way more recognition.

No disrespect was intended to her, Ginger or the other girls who formed ISIS after Genya went with T.W.D..

  • Good thing Tigra is in there.

  • hahahahaha! uh...this is supposed to be feminist? a bunch of sexed-up half-naked barbie-figured "super heros??"

how come they all have to have about one square foot of clothing on? because that's the only way anyone will be interested in them?

why should women have to strip to be considered powerful?

no dig on the vid itself...more on the fact that it emphasizes that only big-breasted, attractive, naked women hold any value in white man's society, even if they do kick ass.

  • For the essence of my belief system, see my Feminist history video "SWEET LINDA DIVINE -I'LL SAY IT AGAIN (1970)" instead.

Since people ask: My 60 videos support equity and justice, in personal, political, spiritual, creative, and sexual expression. They and their essays bear this intent out. But I respect and depend on everyone's outlooks to vary. Freedom is making up your own mind. I'll simply ask that we give each person the benefit of the doubt, instead of doubting their benefit.

  • Cool! Luv the music!

  • GROSSARTIG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Romita sr!

  • How can you forget both the Scarlet Witch and the Black Widow?

  • This is about the 70's heroes; since they originated in the 60's, there will be another video for that (as well as the 40's and 50's women). It'll include Zatara, Invisible Girl, Medusa, and the rest.

  • Nice images...too feminist-oriented for me, though.

  • what did you expect?a gangbang?

  • Great post, just love those marvel/DC woman, they all had great tits. also the song is priceless!!!!

  • That was so tight!

  • check out darkviewmans sexy lady artwork and photography,x

  • Awesome compilation of pop culture images, funknroll! Btw, you included "The Cat" but no "Hellcat"! "Hellcat" is the longer lasting of those 2 characters.

  • OH my god. I'm having a moment at 2:34. Vampirella!!! Can suck my blood anytime...is it wrong!!!

  • I have a lot of respect for heroines especially wonder woman and Isis...but Electric woman and Dyna girl?? Well that's tv for you.

  • Hi, My twin sister put me on hours ago and I am told someone responded to me ("Benita"). I just joined uTube. I am sad to read that Carol died. Do you know how she died?

  • Hi I'm Benita! I was their bass player in 1976-77!!!

  • A superb compilation funknroll! I'm a fan of all strong females. You forgot Cleopatra Jones(Tamara Dobson) and Maya of "Space 1999". I saved this under my favorites!
