The original Unreal Tournament is LEGENDARY. I think Epic lost their way a little after that, I couldn't get into the later Unreal games. Neither could any of my friends, we moved to Halo. I don't really know what went wrong.

UT 99 Was very very GOOD! UT 2003 Was pritty cool with ragdoll effects and gameplay was good, UT 2004 was okay just improved grafics.. AND UT 3 was not good at all. UT 3 had a very beutifull engine but the game was not good.

I'm still playing UT99 but I love too UT3 I think that it's awesome too and it takes a lot of concepts,music and maps of the first unreal tournament, and I think that it is not necesary argue of which school is the best (new of old beacuse both are good) (sorry for this large coment xD.

oh and lets not forget the market helped give them UT3 servers with no online players. not that it would matter to me at this point, i dont play that crappy game either. we're all so happy that they managed to sell a ton of games through marketing and have essentially handed us a pile of digital trash that we got to wait for, go to the store buy it, bring it home open it, install the 7gb crappy game, see that it's crappy, feel like we've been ripped off and not play it because it sucks.

excellent video, thank you for posting it. unreal tournament 99 is still the best game, i play it every day. as far as for games after that 'where the market was going' explains what the hell happened. apparently the market was going towards crappier and crappier games. well good for the market, we serious players will stick with UT99 until they figure it out.

They called it UT3 because it's using the 3rd generation Unreal engine. Ut1 used the first U-Engine as was used in Unreal and the return to Na Pali mission pack. UT's 2003 and 2004 used the same 2nd U-Engine, and the newest installment, UT3 is using it's own new engine.
